    The Space:

    The Blakey is a lovingly restored cabin with a storied history, tracing its origins back to the year 1867. This meticulously preserved property is a testament to the enduring charm of a bygone era, where history and modern comfort converge to create a truly unique retreat.



    As you step into The Blakey, you'll find yourself in a living room that exudes timeless elegance. The focal point of this inviting space is a stone fireplace that harks back to a simpler, cozier time. Thoughtfully arranged seating surrounds the fireplace, creating an intimate and warm ambiance.



    The bedroom is designed to provide guests with the utmost comfort and tranquility. It features a comfortable king-sized bed adorned with cozy linens, ensuring that you enjoy restful nights during your stay. A full bathroom adjoining the bedroom adds to the convenience of your stay.



    A covered breezeway provides the perfect spot to enjoy your morning cup of coffee in the shade, allowing you to take in the beauty of the surrounding yard. The porch serves as a tranquil retreat, inviting you to linger and savor the moment.



    The charming firepit allows for cozy evening gatherings under the starry sky. Whether you're roasting marshmallows, sharing stories, or simply basking in the warmth of the fire, the firepit is a delightful feature that adds to the cabin's overall charm.



    The outdoor shared space is designed for fun and relaxation for guests of all ages. It includes a playscape for children, a pavilion that offers a shaded retreat, making it an ideal spot for outdoor gatherings and picnics. Adjacent to the pavilion is "The Saloon," a fantastic recreational space equipped with a pool table, shuffleboard, a chess table, and more. The Saloon is perfect for friendly competitions, game nights, and socializing. A kitchenette ensures that refreshments and snacks are always within reach.



    Guest Access:

    ✅ This property has special local compliance requirements which include a signed rental agreement, ID verification, and a security hold of $1000 (which is not a traditional security deposit, just a pending transaction). As an optional alternative to the security hold, you may opt in to purchase a non-refundable damage waiver provided by a third-party insurance company. The optional damage waiver is $53 for stays up to 10 nights, with an additional $1.5 per day for stays longer than 10 nights. Damage waiver purchases are optional.



    To make this process easy for you, we use a secure and very simple, app-free platform. It is not an app, and you do not have to sign up for an account - it’s a safe and secure website. It also gives you a guest portal with all the info about the home and all of my favorite local spots.

For a more flexible and relaxed wine-tasting experience, the 290 Wine Shuttle provides a convenient way to hop between wineries, departing from downtown Fredericksburg and making stops at select wineries every 10 minutes on Fridays and Saturdays.

    Main Street serves as the heart of the action in Fredericksburg. With over 150 shops, boutiques, and art galleries, visitors can peruse a wide array of unique offerings. The street is also home to numerous restaurants, wine tasting rooms, a brewpub, and two museums, offering a diverse range of dining and cultural experiences. The lively atmosphere and variety of options make Main Street a popular destination for locals and tourists alike.

    The history of Fredericksburg dates back to its founding in 1846 by German settlers in the Texas Hill Country.     2. Not all homes have cable; consider setting up a streaming account in advance.

    3. Our team is committed to assisting you, though occasional check-in delays may occur during peak periods.

    4. WiFi is available in all homes, but uninterrupted service is not guaranteed. No refunds or rate adjustments will be made for mechanical failures, or discontinued or interrupted services that occur during your stay.

    5. A $500 fine will be imposed for any evidence of smoking, cigars, confetti, vomit residues, or glitter.

    6. Set the A/C no lower than 72 degrees to prevent freezing and system issues; no refunds for low-temperature-related A/C problems.

    7. We will provide a two-day supply of start-up sundries, including dish soap, sponge, paper towels, toilet paper, bath soap, shampoo, conditioner, and hand lotion. Guests will need to purchase additional items from a local store or bring them with them. Missing supplies must be reported to our Customer Hospitality team within one hour of arrival.

    8. Pets are only allowed in designated pet-friendly units, subject to an extra fee in addition to the nightly rate. Please verify whether pets are permitted in the unit you intend to rent. In the event that a pet is discovered in a non-pet-friendly unit, the guest grants Stay Texas authorization to levy a minimum additional cleaning fee of $500.

    9. Bugs are common in the Texas Hill Country; pest control is in place, but some insects are inevitable.

    10. In Texas, there are periods of time without significant rainfall causing the county to place a ban on burning. Please check the current burn ban status, before using the fire pit at your vacation rental. Check the amenities to see if this rental is equipped with a fire pit.

    For any issues during your stay, a 72-hour window after check-out is provided to file a claim. Note that refunds won't be issued for claims submitted after this period. We appreciate your cooperation.
