Stunning 1 Bedroom Fishermans Cottage Located In The Beautiful Village Of Pennan

  • Pennan is a gorgeous little seaside village made famous from the eighties film - Local Hero where a business man falls for the charm and the pace of life the village has to offer. This is still true today, you will feel yourself relax as you wind down the steep road towards the village with breath-taking views of the sea in front of you. The house has been restored with deep consideration to its original features and new additions including artisan wood work and luxury bathroom. The village has a fantastic restaurant and pub and there are brilliant walks nearby offering a restorative getaway for guests. A starter set of logs and kindling is provided, guests to provide their own logs and kindling thereafter.

    Inside the house:

    * On the ground floor there is an open plan kitchen and sitting room with a traditional wood burning stove. There are hand crafted touches throughout including the whiskey barrel window seat and hand made dining table. There is a well equipped kitchen thoughtfully designed to fit around the 19th century home.

    *Upstairs on the first floor is the bedroom with a king-size bed, beautiful window seat and a wood burning stove. The en suite bathroom includes a shower and deep soaking tub.

    *On the top floor there is a relaxing sitting room with bespoke furniture, a telescope and stunning sea views, the perfect place to relax with a book while listening to the waves...

    The property is fantastic retreat offering guests a wonderful holiday with the idyllic setting and beautiful touches throughout. Bed linen, towels, picnic set, cleaning products and kitchen essentials are provided.

This property was 11/10, It was excellent in every respect . On arrival the place was so welcoming . Attention to detail, cleanliness and comfort in addition to the superb location exceeded expectations. We booked dinner at the Pennan Inn which we can recommend. Extremely good value for money, I would highly recommend.

Just back from a 2 night stay in the Wee House and it was fabulous. Great location looking out over the water, clean, well equipped and cozy especially with the fire lit! We have always wanted to visit Pennan since seeing Local Hero and it didn’t disappoint. It’s a central base for exploring the villages on that coast and near Troup Head with amazing bird life. Definitely recommend a stay - thanks for sharing your lovely cottage!

Of course our stay in Pennan had to do with our favourite movie Local Hero. But without the and cosy house of Kate would be the two days in Pennan had been only half as beautiful. Big recommendation!

A perfect base camp for exploring the north east of Scotland. you’ll even the northern lights from the front door. Would highly recommend.

This cottage is so authentic with it's cosy, comfortable and quirky look, really made us feel at home. It has everything and more that you need and want to ensure your stay is catered for, Kate has thought of everything. The views from the house are breathtaking and we really enjoyed having our breakfast and other meals outside, looking out at the sea, accompanied by the cute seals. Pennan is truly a lovely place, where life slows down, relaxing and the locals are very friendly. Access to the beach, sea and walks, perfect for for a couple holiday, we certainly enjoyed paddleboarding. Various places nearby to visit and not forgetting the delicious cakes from Coastal Cuppie and outstanding meal from The Pennan Inn. Loved this cottage so much, we booked again for the next year, while staying there. Beyond perfect, never felt so relaxed. Looking forward to our next stay. Found our little piece of heaven by the sea.

This was the most beautiful spot. The beach and views are incredible. The house was charming, comfortable, clean, well stocked. The fireplace was perfect as were the fun boardgames and movies. Absolutely loved everything here.

Absolutely beautiful throughout!Kate was great with clear communication, letting us know instructions and parking arrangements in advance of our stay.A charming and quirky little cottage with a cute bath!! Well equipped, homely and snug with the log burner.. Enjoyed every minute of our stay, would highly recommend.

A perfect holiday

We felt perfectly at home and at ease in this tastefully decorated and beautifully furnished cosy cottage. The sea views were delightful and lying in bed listening to the waves was bliss.

Wee Cottage

A beautiful wee cottage, exactly like the photos but of course so much more because of its location. The kitchen is well organised, the bathroom spotless and the host is lovely. A relaxing place to stay. I loved the attic room with the little window giving a view to the sea and space to do some yoga.
