Baloo’s Cozy Mountain Cabin - Views, 3 King Beds & Fireplace

  • Welcome to Baloo’s Mountain Cabin, your cozy home away from home in Franklin, North Carolina. Settle into a three-story log cabin with mountain views, room to gather, and quiet corners to unwind.

    RELAX & ENJOY
    Start your morning on the wraparound porch, listening to the nearby creek. Spend a chilly evening beside the wood-burning fireplace, or relax outside by the gas fire table. Inside, vaulted ceilings and warm wood interiors create a welcoming place to reconnect.

    COOK & GATHER
    The fully equipped kitchen makes it easy to prepare anything from breakfast to a family dinner. Gather around the dining table, share stories, and enjoy time together.

    PLAY & UNWIND
    Head to the game room for foosball, board games, cards, or puzzles. The loft has a sitting area for a good book and a dedicated workspace for those bringing work along.

    SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS
    • Main level: two king bedrooms with two full bathrooms.
    • Lower level: one king bedroom, a half bathroom, and the game room.
    • Loft sleeping area: one queen bed and one twin daybed.

    All four bedrooms are available to every reservation. The cabin sleeps up to nine guests and has two full bathrooms and one half bathroom. Sleeping areas are spread across three levels, with stairs between floors.

    Whether you spend your days exploring nearby trails and waterfalls or simply enjoying the porch, we hope you feel right at home at Baloo’s.

    GUEST ACCESS
    Guests have access to the entire cabin, all four bedrooms, the wraparound porch, and the game room. Parking is available by the cabin. Access is via a shared private gravel road; please drive slowly and respect our neighbors.

    GOOD TO KNOW
    The nightly rate includes up to four guests. Each additional guest is $25 per night, up to a maximum of nine guests. Please enter the correct guest count when booking so the total reflects your group size.

    A portable crib is available. Please bring your own fitted crib sheet.

    The cabin has a wood-burning fireplace and an outdoor gas fire table. There is no hot tub.

The property was nice. We enjoyed sitting outside in the morning and evening listening to the water. It was a great stay and would most definitely recommend this place.

We loved everything about this cabin. It is absolutely beautiful inside and out. We’re already wanting to book it again for our next vacation. The owners really take time to make sure it’s an enjoyable stay.

Beautiful home away from home

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cabin. It was so roomy and comfortable with all the amenities that we needed and more. It was also very well kept and clean. We would definitely consider staying here again.

Mountain Getaway

We had a great time at the house. It was very clean and spacious and very comfortable. We loved sitting and relaxing on the porch. The house is a fairly close drive to Highlands and other small towns.

Lovely, Clean Cabin

My family stayed a few nights at this cabin and we had a lovely time! We have very high cleanliness standards and this house was kept in fantastic condition. From the kitchenware to linens to furniture - everything was very well maintained. It truly felt like staying at a hotel. We will definitely book this cabin on our next trip to NC!

Very relaxing and beautiful

Every need was covered. The location beautiful. The cabin was wonderful. The only thing I regret is that I didn't book the property for longer, I will not make that mistake again.

Attractive cabin but near a busy road

We enjoyed our stay in the cabin and especially the large deck. We can tell the cabin was professionally designed and equipped. Nice beds. Unfortunately the road noise below is distracting.

Comfortable, roomy, and absolutely spotless cabin. Very well appointed. A little out of the way and recommend an All-wheel-drive to access the front door, or, use lower, easily accessed secondary parking and walk your luggage up ten steps. Photos on-line are accurate as of April 12, 2026. Decent cell signal, good WiFi, healthy HVAC system. Quiet neighborhood and just far enough off of highway 28 to miss the noise. NOTE: stepped entrance should be considered when handicapped persons are reserving.

House Located Near a Very Busy Highway

Lovely house and wrap around porch. Unfortunately, it's in a neighborhood (not really in the mountains) and the noise of the highway is very loud.

Comfortable stay in the mountains.

Pros. Immaculate Huge home Nice, well equipped kitchen. Comfortable bedding Newer construction Cons View not as expansive as expected or depicted. Two older homes close by. Dusk to dawn lights from neighbors very visible from deck at night.

Very well equipped for your needs

We enjoyed our visit very much. The mountains out the window, the fireplace ( we bought starters), and they did have other things to use which we just did not have time for like the grill and downstairs recreation area. Beds were comfortable and you really felt like you were into cabinet life. It’s very convenient to the highway so that you can have a view of the mountains without having to drive up high to see it. Not being current with all the latest TV choices like Netflix, Hulu, peacock,etc. we be did not use the TV.

Thanksgiving Getaway

We really enjoyed our stay over Thanksgiving and overall had a great experience at the cabin. No detail was missed and the Luisa was very accommodating letting us check in early. Franklin is just a short drive away and offers a great small town experience. Lots to do nearby, would definitely stay again.

They provided literature for us making everything easier for us to decide. We would definitely like to visit & stay here again in the future.
