The Caledonian Canal cuts through the village to Loch Ness, making it a wonderful place to relax, watch the boats go through the locks, and has many places to eat and drink and shop. There is plenty to keep you occupied, with daily boat trips onto Loch Ness, the Great Glen Way walking trail and Great Glen Canoe Trail, a Golf Club, an interactive heritage centre and perhaps a spot of Loch Ness monster hunting! The Isle of Skye is just over an hour’s drive along one of the most beautiful roads in Scotland, taking you through the Kintail mountains.
