Unique Romantic Beach Style Cottage close to Folly Beach & historic Charleston!

If you like island living and are seeking a unique romantic get-a-way, you will LOVE our property. With a Caribbean/surfing theme you will be able to enjoy your stay with us in a private setting. Our ADULT ONLY cozy cottage has two rooms but all you need to relax and unwind. The outside area has tropical trees along the pathway to our pool and sun deck for your enjoyment. Music is also an added pleasure around the pool area with outdoor sound system. The garden shower (and only shower) is just outside the cottage doors, completely private and unique as you can see in the photos. Our guests have a private entrance to the cottage on the back of the property. There is a cozy porch with Adirondack chairs for relaxing. Bicycles, Beach chairs, surfboard, and cooler are provided for your beach fun. The property is located behind our home on a quiet cul-de-sac with no noise except for the songbirds chirping in the mornings. Short 10 minute drive to either Folly Beach or to downtown historic Charleston. We have many guests celebrate honeymoons, weddings, anniversaries, graduations, and other Charleston events throughout the year. A long list of things to do as well as favorite restaurants are provided by past guests as well as family and friends. Our pool is unheated and located behind the main home and being the only guests, you will be able to enjoy it on your own. We have a strict no-pet policy so please do not ask for an exception. Cozy cottage

The cottage is adorable, exactly as pictured with all of the little touches to make you feel at home. Beautiful outdoor oasis, that is quiet & relaxing. Friendly hosts. Great location for going to the beach or exploring the history of Charleston.

Fantastic Anniversary Rental

Kokomo Cottage was the perfect stay for my girlfriend and I’s anniversary! We loved the intimacy of the space, the proximity to downtown Charleston/Folly Beach, and the pool. Would recommend to any couple who wants to spend a romantic getaway in the Charleston area!

The owner seemed nice, but there was a camera pointed right at the shower. My wife and daughter took a shower and then i took mine. When I was taking a shower I noticed the back blinds of their house open then I looked up to see a camera pointed right at me. I told my wife and she felt really violated, especially that my 3 year old daughter had to walk from the cottage to the shower naked because she was covered in beach sand. We did not feel private at all and felt like we were being watched the whole time. The cottage smelled like mildew as well and the pool was on their back porch with about 10 windows pointed at you, so after seeing the camera we just didnt feel comfortable. I have pictures of the camera view from standing in the shower and you could easily see the upper half of your body from the camera. It was really creepy. I get they may want the camera for safety purposes but at least put a full size door up and notify your tenants instead of making the description sound like its a private get away. We had to hang a towel up to block out the view of the camera.

Riverbend Music Festival

We had a lovely stay, and the location was an easy UBER Ride from the venue. Outdoor Shower did not disappoint event on a chilly morning. Will definitely stay there again. The Hosts were lovely and nonobtrusive.

Cozy stay for our beach getaway

My partner and I had a relaxing stay at the Kokomo cottage during our visit to Charleston. We very much enjoyed the backyard space and access to the pool and tiki bar that Ken and Christine have to offer. The mattress in the cottage was very comfortable and the rest of the cottage was clean and well-maintained. Highly recommended for a couple getaway!

Lovely Lil Cottage

Cute bungalow, but not by the beach

We had a lovely time staying here, but felt like it maybe overemphasized it's closeness to Folly Beach. Loved the outdoor shower, but for a "romantic" stay would definitely have preferred to have a door on the bathroom. Also definitely had a mildew problem and all our clothes came home smelling of damp.

A great little hideaway near the beach

It was our first time to Folly Beach and my wife and I stayed at the Kokomo Cottage. We stayed for 2 nights and it was the perfect little stay. Easy access to the beach and to Charleston. After a morning at the beach, we floated in the pool and captured some more sun. It had everything we needed and felt very private. Nice design touches makes you feel you're right at the beach. Would definitely consider if my wife and I are looking for an easy getaway!

Kokomo Cottage made our stay unforgettable!

We enjoyed every minute of our stay at Kokomo and didn't want to leave! Ken and Christine are lovely people, were very accommodating, and you hardly knew they were around. The location is perfect as it's 10 minutes to downtown, 10 minutes to Folly Beach, and 30 minutes from the airport. The cottage is a perfect romantic getaway or an excellent base of operations from which to explore all the area has to offer. We can't wait to visit Kokomo Roatan next!

The beautiful bungalow

We loved Ken and Christine. They’re so sweet and chill. They had all the beach stuff you could need !! It’s a little pricey for the amenities you’re getting though. It is indeed a shared pool. Not private. The bed was not as comfortable as I thought it would be. Overall we’re super chill about where we stay. Just a few things to consider.

Slice of Relaxing Paradise!

We absolutely loved our 5-night stay at Kokomo Cottage. It was quiet, peaceful and exactly what we needed after a hectic tax season. Rather heading to Folley Beach, or downtown Charleston for a day of shopping, sightseeing or an incredible dinner, the Cottage is centrally located to everything we wanted to do. Owners ensure your privacy and were very helpful, as needed! We loved our vacation and didn't want to leave! Thanks Ken and Christine!!!

Perfect location for the Charleston experience!

We loved our stay at Kokomo for our 5 year wedding anniversary! Being 15 minutes away from historic downtown Charleston and under 15 minutes from Folly Beach made it the perfect combination for a memorable stay! The cottage was exactly as advertised and the hosts were always prompt on responding to any inquiries we had. We would highly recommend for anyone looking for a Charleston getaway!!
