Fourth Block Folly Beach Paradise

Welcome to your Folly paradise! This charming 1940's beach bungalow was updated with modern appliances, newly remodeled bathroom, furniture, art, surfboards, 65" 4K TV, stereo with bluetooth, and a huge outdoor shower. Guests love the privacy of having a secluded, full-sized property with great outdoor spaces, parking, and a short walk to the beach and restaurants- for the same rate as a noisy condo. A retreat for guests that want a true folly vibe.

The space
This cottage is your private Folly Beach retreat, just two blocks to the beach (with access directly across from the house) and 4 blocks to the restaurants, bars, Bert's market, and Center Street, just a short walk away. The street is one off the main drag, so it's super quiet, with privacy from the neighbors and traffic. The open layout of the main area and kitchen keeps everyone in the mix, while the two queen bedrooms and newly remodeled bathroom round out the back of the house. The front deck is styled with plenty of seating, Adirondack chairs, cool plants, and bistro lights for a perfect nighttime vibe.

Our goal was to create a super relaxing space to share with our family and friends. Guests love that we are just two 'skinny blocks' from the beach (500 ft.), and only four blocks to the bars and restaurants of Center Street.

Common Questions:

- How close to the beach? There is a public beach access one house over, requiring that you walk across two 'skinny blocks' to get to a beautiful public beach- about 500 feet.

-What's up with the golf cart? We have a cart conveniently located at the house that can be rented through our friends at Charleston Golf Cart Rentals.

- Do you have cable? No, we provide a 65" smart TV along with an Apple TV system, ready for all your streams, subscriptions, and youtube.

- Do you provide towels and linens? Yes! Bath towels and bed linens are included, but please bring your own beach towels, blankets, and tapestries!

- Can we cook? Yes! There is a flat top induction range, stainless appliances, and a full set of knives, pots, pans and cookware.

-Whats the coffee situation? There is usually regular coffee on premises along with a Mr. Coffee drip pot as well as a large french press for the coffee snobs.

- Can we check-in early? Probably not! Please don't show up early. Are you sure? YES. Please don't show up early and watch us clean.

- What is your refund policy? Please review the reservation terms and cancellation policies carefully, as we do not provide refunds for hurricanes (unless mandatory evacuation), travel delays, or other emergency circumstances. We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance through VRBO or a trusted third-party provider to protect your trip.

- How do I turn on the party lights?? The party switch is by the sink in the kitchen. Enjoy!

This was our first time staying on Folly. We absolutely adored this house, the foliage and ambiance, and the feelings of "home" that came so naturally. The owners provide a booklet with the history of the house, which we loved. The outdoor shower was heavenly. We were able to walk most places in under 10 minutes, including the beach, the shops and restaurants on/close to Central. We listened to the other reviews and brought a few extra blankets and beach towels. We would definitely stay here again.

Cute bungalow in great location!

Overall the house was great- good space to hang out in common area, comfortable bedding. We didn't realize it was not 2 full bathrooms (just 1 bathroom and an outdoor shower), but made it work for our group. Location is great on Folly, easy 25-minute ride into Charleston and easy walk to the beach.

Awesome location

Really great time staying here. The property is very close to beach, restaurants, and shops. Highly recommend renting a golf cart. The bathroom situation could be more clear in the listing because there is only 1 full bathroom, plus an additional outdoor shower, not 2 bathrooms.

Casual Getaway

Fabulous location, a short walk to the beach! Perfect for us! Loved the information book with suggestions on what to do and where to dine. Andy was very accessible and efficiently took care of any issues we may have had. My only suggestion might be to have beach towels for guests, although it was off-season when we visited Folly Beach.

Folly Girl’s Weekend

This property is perfect for a girls’ weekend away. It’s an easy walk to the beach, restaurants, and entertainment. Such a cozy home and the outdoor shower was lovely!

Easy and Convenient Stay

We had a great time for a week here. The location had everything we needed and the proximity to the beach and Berts was ideal. We had been to Folly before and found this location preferable to a similarly priced unit a few blocks over.

Perfect place

Highly recommend this place for your trip to Folly Island. It is close to the beach and downtown. I would also recommend renting the golf cart. The owner was a pleasure to work with and the property is clean and well maintained. We will definitely be back.

Best of both worlds - city and beach

Great location two blocks from Folly Beach, very close to restaurants and shops. Very relaxing to be here in the off-season/winter. Lots of friendly people in town and on the beach. Just 30 minutes from Charleston so you get the best of both worlds- city and beach! House is great! Nice size kitchen, two couches to lounge on, comfortable beds. Very beachy vibe.

Great property, amenities, and location

Andy was great, easy to work with, quick to reply, and the property was fantastic. My teenagers and I had an awesome time and will be coming back. Some of our favorites regarding the property were the outdoor shower (hot water big shower), large family/kitchen space, large porch, beach chairs, surf and body boards, golf cart, and location to beach. I highly recommend this property.

Great time at Folly Beach

Loved the cottage. We did learn to leave the outside lights on at night to keep the racoons away! Great to have such a short walk to the beach. The wifi and bluetooth speakers were wonderful! The rental on the golf cart was a little steep, so we didn't use it. It would be nice to rent for a day rather than $90 for a 3 day stay. Otherwise it was quiet and relaxing!

My favorite work get away

Love this place... I could live here. Easy to walk to the beach and restaurants. Neat little store close by for food items you can take back to the house. Great porch to sit on and listen to the ocean call. I’ll be back. Thanks Andy for you great touches you have added.

Great house!

The 5 star rating is with some caveats. The good: The kitchen and living space is awesome. Comfortable furniture, open space, great island in the kitchen. Because it was high mosquito season during our stay, we did not enjoy time on the amazing deck but during the right months, that is a fantastic aspect of the house. And the outdoor shower -- wonderful! Wish all SC beach homes would have outdoor showers! Also, it has beach chairs, boogie board, etc. We brought our own stuff but was nice to see that there were things at the house as well. And location is GREAT. A very short walk to the beach. Cons: The air flow in the bedrooms is bad -- if you do not like to be hot when you sleep, bring a fan for your bedroom. Likewise, the living room area is very cool and there are no throw blankets -- I used a beach towel to keep warm. And, if you plan to use the kitchen for cooking (which we did often) you will want to bring some kitchen towels as there are none. Same for mixing bowls. And although not listed, there is a coffee maker and a blender. Overall, we plan to stay again - -we just know what we need to bring next time.

Amazing girls weekend!!! Walked to everything!

Perfect spot to walk to the beach and to town-great restaurants!!! most comfortable sofas after day at the beach for movie time/cocktail hour!! Outdoor shower was the best and plenty of room in the kitchen for fun cooking. Would certainly stay here again! The lights were even on when we arrived after long flight! thanks so much for sharing you lovely space with us.

Nice house, but needs more kitchen amenities

The house is nice, clean and perfect for a beach vacay. My only complaint is that the house was short on kitchen amenities. For example, the kitchen does not have a toaster. Most people will at least make breakfast at home before the beach. A microwave to heat up water for tea or coffee would be nice, but the toaster is essential.

Very pleased with house and convenience to beach and town!

Had a great time at this house. Loved the original look of the bungalow with all the modern upgrades. Took every shower outside in the outside shower! Very convenient to the beach and the town of folly beach just a hop and a skip away from it all. Very peaceful and relaxing. Will definitely stay again!

Funky Folly at its Finest!

Cutest bungalow ever! Quick 5 min walk to beach, epic outdoor shower, and super roomy & comfortable beds! Andy renovated this jewel and was great to work with. Highly recommend this property & hope I’m lucky enough to stay again. The only thing we missed was a microwave, but minor price to pay for all the other wonderfulness.

Great beach cottage

The cottage was really fantastic!! Beautifully decorated and well appointed. We loved the front deck and had morning coffee and afternoon drinks under the trees. We didn't use the kitchen much as we ate our meals out but it is well equipped with new stainless appliances. The couches were very comfortable and we sank right in after a busy day around the town. The cottage was spotlessly clean, the linens were clean and soft and I loved the little plants all through the house. The beds were very comfortable. Bedding was nice but could use an extra set of blankets, we got a little chilly at night. Location was great, easy quick walk to the beach took only a few mins. The walk to the main area was a little further maybe not quite 10 mins. We went to the coffee shop at the top of the street each morning and they were very friendly and fast. It was nice to be a little further away from the main area because it can get a little loud by the Main Street and more traffic.We really enjoyed the rental and would definitely look to stay here again if in town. Thanks for the beautiful place !!
