"The beautiful home was located in a quiet village steps away from the town square. We enjoyed a lovely private court yard and a deck on one of our upstairs bedrooms. The home had been recently been faithfully restored to its original 200 year plan. Period furnishings made it a delight!
The staff was kind, accommodating and extremely helpful.
A gourmet traditional Greek breakfast was served every morning. It was absolutely delicious!!

The breakfast which was beautifully served on the balcony was beyond compare. Local, fresh, and delicious Cretan treats. Archanes is close to Heraklion and the palace of Knossos and had plenty of dining options. We were in Greece for three weeks and our night at Carpe Diem was probably our best stay. Can’t recommend highly enough. "

"Very nice and clean hotel! Reception was closed but I got very detailed instructions before arrival on how to retreive my key and find the room. I was also gifted sweets and wine. I loved that the fridge was bigger than usual hotel fridges/minibar. I also got the breakfast, which was served at a nearby café, and I got my breakfast served at the table. Very cozy place and everything was tasty! Highly recommend this hotel!"

"Hotel and my room were well maintained and decorated to a high standard. Location was close to public transport, and the main square and port area. My room looked out on the walkway which tops the old ramparts of the city. Opposite side also windowed looked out onto rooftops and hotel courtyard."

Maria at reception was most helpful when i was needing help navigating the bus service & even booked a taxi for me to get to the airport.

Hervorragende Lage, in 2 Minuten ist man im Einkaufsviertel, geradewegs zum Venitianischen Hafen. Die Herren an der Rezeption waren sehr nett und zuvorkommend."

"Beautifully appointed room, comfortable bed, charming private (or shared depending on the room) terrace with umbrella, table and chairs. The proprietor is helpful but not obtrusive. The property is just a couple of very short blocks from the archeological museum and the old town. We are not shoppers but we saw many stores within an easy walk. Highly recommended. "

The property is gorgeous and the apartments are incredibly well furnished & arranged. The pictures do not do them justice. The beach is literally across the road and the town square is a 4 minute walk. Many good restaurants just steps away. This should be on the top of everyone's list of places to stay when visiting Kalamaki."
