Flagstaff Cabin in Forest near Lake Mary. Mountain Views. Pet-Friendly

  • Janie's Cabin, an off-the-beaten-path private getaway, is a great place for a wilderness retreat. Located in the Coconino National Forest, the cabin is walking distance to the meadows of Lower Lake Mary and just a few miles drive to the water in Upper Lake Mary. Enjoy forest hikes, horseshoes, board games, and mountain views. With plenty of windows for light, you are never far from nature. Relax in the Adirondack chairs on the front porch while enjoying your favorite beverage or dinner cooked up on the grill. Listen to old records, enjoy the VHS and DVD library, or stream your own channels on the smart TV with high-speed satellite internet.

    Two dogs are allowed, subject to a $50 per-pet, per-stay fee when paid with reservation or $75 per pet after arrival. Please contact the hosts in advance if you plan to bring more than one dog or another animal. Note that the cabin is unfenced in the forest. Guests are asked to pick up after their pet in order to deter animals and for the benefit of future guests.

    Located only 10 miles from downtown Flagstaff and its shopping and dining. The cabin has high-speed satellite internet. Guests are asked to conserve and be mindful that the cabin is on hauled water and propane. The laundry facilities are for housecleaner use only unless needed in an emergency with advance notice to hosts (water tank levels permitting). No parties and no campfires allowed, regardless of weather and forest conditions.

    The last four miles of road to the property are unpaved, so the property may be unavailable when there is heavy snow or mud. If the roads are impassible and the cabin inaccessible, we will let you know as soon as possible and provide a full refund. Please use the driving directions you will receive, as smart phone maps tend to take you onto closed roads.

    Please note there is a doorbell camera and back floodlight camera used solely for safety/access purposes and to monitor weather/driveway conditions. They are not otherwise monitored.

    NEED MORE SPACE?

    If you are traveling with other families or need extra room, we have three total cabins on our tree-filled, secluded ridge. All offer privacy but convenience if you're traveling with a group or with other families. Are you having a small event (retreat, family reunion, small wedding)? We have available space/ideas for that too. Just message us for details.

We had an amazing stay at this cozy cabin in Flagstaff. The mountain views were beautiful, and the peaceful setting made it the perfect escape. The cabin was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing trip.The location was ideal—secluded but still close to town and great hiking spots. It was the perfect balance of quiet retreat and convenience. We’d definitely come back!

Our stay was very cozy. The cabin is equipped with more than what’s needed and had something extra for everyone. Dog toys for pups, craft area and games for kids and families, storage bags for leftovers, plethora of extra toiletries and towels, lots of seating and sleeping room. 10/10 would recommend. We hope to come back soon!

Family Friendly Cabin Getaway

We had an amazing stay at this cozy little cabin! It was clean, comfortable, and the perfect escape into the wilderness. Our kids had an absolute blast sledding near the property, which made the trip even more special. It was the perfect winter getaway. This was a trip we won’t forget, and we would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful Stay

We had such a great stay! The view is stunning, location is perfect. Enjoyed the weekend relaxing on the porch listening to the wind in the trees, staring at a picturesque view of the mountain. We cannot wait to come back!

Cabin with a mountain view!

My family and I spent the weekend in this great little cabin, everything was clean and enjoyable. We look forward to visiting there again soon. The cabin has a great Mountain View and there is a beautiful history and love for this cabin. We are thankful we found this gem!

Great, quiet place tucked in woods. Easy check in, easy communication with property nothing bad to say about this place. Kitchen was fully stocked, the loft is also great for the kids to play. Cant wait to book it again. Wife and kids loved staying here. The view is beautiful!
