On arrival we checked in at reception to be greeted with our room information and all information relevant to the hotel such as parking and food. "All staff were excellent, super friendly and helpful, I'd booked an attic room but seeing my husband on crutches they immediately swapped us into a first floor room which I think was an upgrade as it had a huge freestanding copper bath and Chesterfield sofa as well as a king (or maybe super king) sized bed. "Receptionist at check in very competent, unfortunately the hotel its self is looking tired and could do with a total revamp. Carpets threadbare, door frames and skirtings require painting. Many scuffs and chips, Bathroom floor tiles broken, general atmosphere within the sitting areas was souless, bar area never seemed to be open. Bed an pillows very comfy tho."

The staff are really nice, I can only mention by name Jonathan on reception who was very helpful but all the other staff on reception were also lovely as well as the bar staff and chambermaids. We had two rooms just above the discotheque which is open at weekends and the night receptionist told us to expect a bit of noise but to be honest we were so whacked out it wasn't a problem. We...
