Lake Blackwell...where you can create memories to last a lifetime!
Our vacation rental on Blackwell Lake will offer you spectacular second story views any time of the year! Landscaped steps and beautiful flower gardens lead you to our two bedroom bungalow, which is located 10 miles west of Alexandria. The bungalwow is attached to the east end of the owners residence. (2 seniors) It's quaint, cozy and offers all of the comforts of home. The master bedroom has a queen bed, 6ft. closet and a restful dehcor. The second bedroom is small with a comfortable fold out bed. The kitchen and living room are open to each other and offer a homey feel.
Out the front door is a private deck with an umbrella table and gas grill. A 4 person hot tub rests on a lower deck for you to relax in anytime of the day or night.
Down the hill at the beach you may swim, kayak, sail (based on skill level) and canoe
or just float! Fishing off the docks or boat is a wonderful way to fritter away the day. A late night dip in the lake followed by a campfire, s’mores and star gazing is a great way to call it a night.
During the winter months, feel free to bring your ice fishing equipment, snow shoes and cross country skis. Please leave your snowmobiles at home since we offer a quiet retreat and our neighbors are non snowmobilers. This is billed as a quaint, quiet retreat.

Barry was welcoming when we arrived and had good suggestions for food and hiking trails. This was a spur of the moment trip my friend and I planned to Alexandria. Wonderful to relax in the hot tub at the end of each day. Enjoyed grilling out. Although weather limited our ability to be outside, had fun in the VRBO playing games etc. This is quiet location which we enjoyed. Kitchen had adequate supply of cooking utensils.

Wonderful lakeside retreat

Partner and I had a great getaway to this beautiful place. Very comfy. Had so we needed especially in the kitchen. The lake was gorgeous and we enjoyed going down and enjoying it.

Great stay!

We had a great time. The hot tub was great! We stayed in the winter and the hot tub was nice and warm. If it’s winter, then I would be sure to have a 4x4 vehicle to get up the driveway.

Farwell stay

Overall good stay. Opportunities for improvement: - communication: i had to ask for the street address in order to get there. If you’re not going to include the address in the description, you need to be proactive about sharing it with your renters - communication: because the rental is attached to another structure there are multiple doors that could be the entry. Tell your renters which door to go to - safety of entry steps: the entry steps are very artistic and attractive but the varying tread shapes and depths are tricky and would be hard for a less mobile person. - railing maintenance: the railing outside the entry door was loose due to wood rot. We were careful not to lean against it. - lighting of entry steps: steps were treacherous at night due to non-functional solar lights. Nobody fell but we were extremely careful

Welcoming stay

Peaceful Getaway

We fished, kayaked, visited Alexandria’s independent book store and relaxed surrounded by bird sounds. The northern light display soaking in the hot tub pretty much sums it up. For three days we saw no others on the lake. Cabin has that up north Minnesota feel. We really enjoyed our stay. Our hosts were traveling but kept in touch. Thank You

Amazing!

Girls get a way with two of my friends. We loved the place! So quiet and relaxing. We fished, hot tubbed, played dice games, watched a couple of movies and explored Alexandria. We stayed 3 nights. So comfortable and stocked with all household needs. Highly recommend. 💕💕💕

Cozy peaceful retreat tucked in the woods

Enjoyed the quiet peaceful yard, coffee on the patio, coffee on the dock, watching a movie, hot tub time, and a few kayak trips on the lake. There are lots of cute places on the property to sit and rest. Had a full schedule of events in Alexandria, but enjoyed our downtime at this retreat. The hostess was wonderful.
