The space

Grabella house is located in the edge of Pitsidia village, only 2km away from famous Matala hippy beach and caves. The magnificent Minoan palace of Phaistos is about 10km away.The beach of Komos is about 1km from our house.Red beach in Matala has been voted as one of the top nudism friendly beaches in the world.

Villa Grabella is amazing! We had a party of 12 (3 families) and the villa is so spacious to accommodate everyone's needs. The bedrooms were a great size all with en-suite shower's, air conditioning and balcony's with absolutely fantastic views. Downstairs is great with a large sized living room (which we did not use) but the kitchen facilities are excellent and again very big for everyone to use. Outside it what makes this place though - with an outstanding infinity pool that overlooks the sea and a great view for the sun setting. Plenty of sun loungers but also enough space with chairs for some much needed shade at times. Massive dining table outside when eating al fresco with plenty of shade and right next to the barbecue which is very handy! Pizza oven on hand to use if needed. Antonis - the host is amazing, he kept me updated with everything and is on hand to help out with absolutely anything. He is very conscious not to spoil your holiday but very helpful with messages to ensure everything is ok. After having villa holidays for many years we can honestly say that for location (quiet) and for amenities this is one of the best we have stayed in - so simple but very effective! Pitsidia is a great location with the seaside resort of Matala just 3km away - a vehicle is definitely recommended as we explored the North and South of the island. One thing is for sure - we will be coming back to Villa Grabella - Thank you Antonis!!

we had a wonderful time. the house has a lot space for big groups. you can watch the sunset while swimming in the pool. antonios is very helpful and easy to get in contact with. everything was perfect

Geräumiges Haus mit tollem Blick

Ich hatte dieses Objekt für einen Urlaub mit Freunden gebucht. Wir waren insgesamt 12 Personen und dank der 6 geräumigen Schlafzimmer mit Einzelbetten hatten wir alle genügend Platz. Es gibt sogar noch zwei Zusatzbetten (2 Dreibettzimmer), die wir nicht genutzt haben. Das Haus liegt am Hang am Ortsausgang von Pitsidia oberhalb der Hauptstraße nach Matala. Es gibt eine Parkmöglichkeit für 3 Autos direkt an der Straße. Tagsüber hat uns der Durchgansverkehr wenig gestört. Abends kann es bei offenem Fenster schon mal etwas lauter sein. Das Haus ist insgesamt recht hellhörig. Die Einrichtung ist landestypisch und stilvoll und insgesamt war das Haus sehr sauber. Jedes der Schlafzimmer verfügt über ein eigenes Bad und einen eigenen Balkon; die meisten davon mit Blick auf Berge und Meer. Die Duschen sind offen (ohne Kabine oder Vorhang), aber man lernt schnell so zu duschen, dass man das Bad möglichst wenig unter Wasser setzt. Die Matratzen sind relativ hart, was für mich und einige andere Mitreisende etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig war. Im Erdgeschoss befindet sich ein geräumiges kombiniertes Ess/Wohnzimmer mit Küchenzeile. Die Küche ist gut ausgestattet; es war kein Problem für eine große Gruppe zu kochen. Einzig die Spülmaschine ist ein bisschen klein. Wir haben überwiegend draußen auf der überdachten Terrasse gegessen. Von dort aus konnte man abends toll den Sonnenuntergang über der Bucht von Kommos beobachten. Der Strand dort ist auch empfehlenswert; sandig und weitläufig. Wir hatten regelmäßigen Besuch von zwei bis drei Hauskatzen, die auf Kreta sehr zahlreich sind, und die bei den Mahlzeiten um unseren Tisch schlichen. Uns haben sie nicht gestört; sie kamen auch nicht ins Haus. In Pitsidia gibt es eine gute Bäckerei wenige hundert Meter Fußweg vom Haus, wo wir frisches Brot holten u. die auch sehr leckeren Kuchen haben. Es gibt einige kleinere Minimärkte im Ort u. nette Restaurants, vor allem am Dorfplatz, montags mit landestypischer Live-Musik. Der Vermieter Antonios war sehr nett u. zuvorkommend u. spricht sehr gut Englisch; allerdings hatten wir nur per Email, Telefon bzw. Whats App Kontakt. Bei Problemen war er aber sofort um Abhilfe bemüht. Vor Ort wird das Haus von seiner Mutter betreut, die nur gebrochen Englisch spricht. Sie begrüßte uns am Ankunftstag mit einer Schale frischer Weintrauben. Insgesamt haben wir unseren Aufenthalt auf Kreta in der Villa Grabella sehr genossen!
