Great spot along the river. Welcomed on board by Stuart who told us some great places to visit and eat he also left us with a nice bottle of wine to drink at the back of the boat. Very clean and comfortable very nice bath to relax in after a walk round Ely. Great breakfast in the morning to start your day. Will definitely book again

A barge hotel - something very different. Bedroom and lounge area were beautifully decorated, making the most of the space . Lovely to sit on the deck with a glass of wine and watch the world go by.

Few Days Away

We had a lovely time. You have to have a reasonable amount of fitness and agility to get down the stairs and to climb up into the bed. This did however add to the fun of our stay. Stuart the owner made us a fabulous breakfast each morning and supplied the odd glass of wine in the afternoons. There are restaurants and bars nearby.

A unique, fantastic accommodation. From the clean, comfortable cabins with all the necessities provided , to the quality , delicious breakfast cooked infront of you as you chat with the helpful Stuart , in the galley kitchen dining room . This is a unique accommodation that I would highly recommend. The boat is moored so close to all of Ely’s delights , making exploring so easy . The boat is beautifully furnished , and I was lucky to experience a hot , bubble bath within my cabin ! Sitting on deck in the evening and in the morning, you experience river life at its best . A fantastic stay , thank you Stuart.

Excellent service and facilities, small and quirky room with all that you need for a different hotel experience.The host Stuart was really helpful with the surrounding places to visit and eat. The lounge on board was snug and welcoming. The breakfast was outstanding and a little large as i had to help my wife with hers, a hardship i eagerly suffered. The access to the barge was fine for me as an able bodied overweight 55 year old but i would advise anyone that if they are not as nimble as they once were, embarking and dis-embarking could be a challenge. This Hotel was a experience that i will definitely do again and the 4 star treatment not only makes this a absolute bargain it was also a joy. i would finally add that i believe this is not somewhere for children unless you are prepared to stand over them, the staircases require careful attention and there is restricted space for those on board and obviously water all around.

Something different!

Staying on a barge is different! The cabins are small, but they’ve got everything you could wish for - and the bed is luxurious. The welcome is warm and the breakfast excellent. What’s not to like? No expense or care has been saved on the fitting out: it’s a super place for a break in an interesting city.

Jättemysigt boende med fantastisk personlig service och omtanke. Man får dock tänka på att det är en båt och utrymmena är små o ibland trånga. Lite kallt o fuktigt i vissa utrymmen, dock ej i rummet.

Good experience

Very clean and a high standard Finnish. Cabin was lovely and warm. Breakfast and lounge area no heating on and it was the end of October. Staff very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was very good and filled us up for the day. Location was 1st class but a little noisey with the frait train on a night.

A beautifully restored barge, deceptively spacious inside. Very welcoming with a comfortable bed, great shower and delicious breakfast. Only downside would be if you had mobility problems as it has steep steps and high beds, or if you are very tall as the ceilings and doorways are low.

Welcoming and relaxing

The waternimf is a beatiful fitted out boat. On arrival the owner Staurt gives you a warm welcome. The rooms are cozy and comfy with all the amenities of a land based hotel with modern ensuites. Will deffinately be staying agaim for buisness and pleasure. Due to it being a boat there are some steep steps so couldn't recomend for people with mobilty issues but the Waternimf is amazing for everbody else.

Chosen due to it being an unusual location being an hotel on a barge and an excellent choice it was too. Ideally located for Ely centre, Cathedral and Riverside walk. Extremely friendly staff, very clean and tidy, the breakfast this morning was outstanding Highly recommended

Great stay

Great location, beautiful barge, fabulous breakfast. ideal place to stay unless you have mobility problems that would make the steep steps down into the barge difficult. Really nice to have a living room as well as a dining area, and on a nice day you could also sit on the deck!
