  • Branch lake is known as one of the top rated lakes in Maine for its water purity and very unique sparse population as its the watershed for Ellsworth. Less than half the lakeshore is developed, especially the Southern end, making one feel wonderfully cutoff from civilization! Mainguy's is one of the nicest or best camps on Branch Lake for its location and amenities just off Route 1, center lake location, deep water frontage with a dive tower (23 feet deep), small beach, lakeside fireplace and exceptional knotty pine interior with top of the line appliances, new beds, bar, Starlink Wifi & 3 large LED TV's. The year round house/camp was totally gutted from top to bottom and remodelled in 2015/2025 and is just 40 feet from the waters edge. Ideally designed for families or 2 couples as there are 2 separate indoor entertainment areas. There is 1 ground floor bedroom with a king & full bathroom near it. Level 1 has 1 double bedroom & 1 queen bedroom plus a 2 twins (bunk bed) bedroom with a full bathroom in the corridor. Level 2 has the master king bedroom which has a 1/2 bathroom next to it along with a loft across the suspended walkway hosting a double bed. The kitchen is completely remodelled with state of the art appliances, dual oven, 36 inch fridge with ice maker , dual gas stove and dishwasher along with a convection microwave oven. Hardwood flooring is laid throughout the 1st floor including the kitchen along with new wrap around quartz countertops. The house has all new linen and towels you will need along with all kitchen utensils and dishes. The ground floor has luxury vinyl flooring which can handle the sandy traffic in and out the sliding glass door to the sand beach . The hammock right near the dock is often fought over during the day or evening as a perch to watch the fire in the lakeside fireplace. Sunsets from the deck are magic! A very scenic 30 minute drive takes you into the famed Acadia National Park or towards Bucksport to start a must do memorable drive along the coastline down to Camden with all the roadside charm and antique shopping.
    In case you are short of space and require additional space or just more privacy, there is an optional very luxurious contemporary 2 king bed bedrooms apartment with ensuite bathrooms, kitchenette with dishwasher/microwave oven, 4 seat island, living room with 65" smart TV, and 2 terraces with great views over the lake. This would grant an extra 4 people to the 12 of the main house. Please message me if you'd like to inquire, receive more information on this apartment.

    Lastly, I just started to rent my other key home on Branch Lake in case interested. Look up "Waterfront, lake estate, reunions, 8 bedrooms, Acadia Nat'l Park, Bar Harbor". The 8 bedroom cottage plus main house sleeps up to 17 in existing bedding. We call it "Serenity" and its also managed by Jessica Dow, the property manager. Tel 1-207-902.3895.

Perfect Vacation Spot

Spacious home with beautiful lake view and access. Fun for adults, children, and pets. Lots of restaurants and shopping all within a 30 to 60 minute drive. Communication with the hosts was never a problem. Very friendly and helpful.

Family trip

We had a wonderful stay. The home is beautiful and the lake is gorgeous. We had a great time swimming, jumping off the dock, and taking out the kayaks. The hosts were very accommodating and quick to respond with any questions we had. We hope to come back in the future!

Wonderful lakefront home

Perfect vacation spot for our family! The house is clean, spacious, and well-stocked with linens, towels, and kitchen necessities as well as games and lake "toys" (canoe, kayaks, paddle board). The lake is pristine and perfect for swimming, boating, and fishing. The dock with its diving/jumping platform is fantastic fun. Three generations had a great week!

Lake Getaway

My family and our friends absolutely loved this property! The home was beautiful and we could not of asked for a better location. We thoroughly enjoyed using the kayaks, canoe, paddle board and jumping off the diving platform. We could have enjoyed our vacation without ever leaving the house. But being so close to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park we definitely had to explore. We will definitely be returning!

Just Awesome!

Very nice house with a cabin feel. The house was very clean, with all the amenities that we needed. Absolutely stunning views, especially the sunsets! We had a great time in a great location. Out of the way enough to not be crowded, close enough to necessities to get there in a short time. The only problem was that the property was so nice that we didn't want to go to Bar Harbor and other attractions as much as I would have liked.

Exceptional Maine Lake Vacation

Best lake house stay! Beautiful location on rarely traveled road. We do these family lake stays with 10 family members every summer and this was the best one yet. Enough water toys for everyone - paddle board, kayaks, canoe, dock and diving platform, beach with kids toys. Such a beautiful location on such a clean lake. Such great evenings around the fire and family meals on big picnic table on the deck. Can’t wait till next year!

Great Maine vacation

We had a great stay at this house. It was clean and had everything we needed for a week at the lake. The house was well stocked with essentials and cook wear. Our family had a great time at the lake kayaking and paddle boarding. Only a 45 min drive to Acadia made it easy to hike in the morning and get to the lake by the afternoon. The owners were great with communication and extremely accommodating. We will definitely be back!

Great time!

We had a wonderful time on Branch lake!! The dive platform was huge hit regardless of the weather. I was in awe of the huge lake rocks and how clear the water was. We saw a bald eagle twice and so many fish. The house was a great fit for our large party. The beds were quite comfortable and the showers were exceptional! Can’t wait for next year.

Branch Lake is Fantastic!

We had a great time playing in the water as well as easy access down to Acadia for hiking, running carriage trails, etc. The lake is super clean - it has a small area for little kids and a great platform for our teenagers to jump. The house was well appointed including having everything you need for a lobster dinner for 13 people. The Property Manager was very responsive. A great week overall!

Amazing lakefront getaway

Was looking for a lakefront summer vaca with swimming and boat access and close proximity to Acadia. This fit the bill and more. Enough room for adults, teens, and youngers to have space and also two gathering areas. Outdoor space was perfect with walk in swimming area, seating, and of course the high dive. Owner and property manager responsive. Can't recommend this property enough.

Perfect Lakeside Home

I chose this house for our annual family vacation and it was as a big hit with everyone. We all like being on the water and having a good kitchen to prepare meals. It was a bonus to have watercraft and we used the kayaks and paddle board almost every day. The house is very well appointed so we didn’t have to run out for baggies, Kleenex or paper towels. We had everything we needed. A special treat, which I have not experienced in other rentals, was having no chores to do on departure day!

We have stayed at this property for many years and it never disappoints us. The hosts go above and beyond to make sure our needs are met. The house is impeccably clean and stocked with everything renters need. It is spacious and the views of the lake are breathtaking. . The location of the house and the dock is perfect for fishing, canoeing, kayaking and boating. The beach is great for children to play on and they can easily wade into the water. .The wrap around deck with its picnic tables, benches and grill is great for family dinners overlooking the lake. Our family of 10 played card games in the evening, watched the beautiful sunsets from the dock and just listened to the loons calling from the water. Acadia National Park is just a 45 minute drive away and a great trip to experience wildlife and magnificent views. I highly recommend this property. We absolutely love this rental and have not found any other rental to compare to this property or the hosts that offer this rental.
