Experience all that Edisto has to offer on a smaller scale at "Palmetto Hut" located just a short 3 mile drive from the Atlantic shore. Smaller properties are hard to come by these days, but your paradise awaits at this adorable, 1BR/1BA garage apartment. This cottage was newly constructed in 2021, offering the perfect combination of updated features and a cozy size. The unique floor plan boasts a combination living and dining area and a well-equipped kitchen. The bedroom offers a queen bed where you will enjoy waking up to expansive views of the Lowcountry salt marsh. Other members of your group can spread out on the comfortable sleeper sofa in the living area. The open paved area in front of the home allows for easy boat parking and is a short drive to local boat ramps and The Marina at Edisto Beach. Additional amenities include free WiFi and cable TV. Couples or small families will enjoy the island atmosphere and private location. If you're looking for a relaxing getaway, look no further! No Smoking. No Pets. PLEASE NOTE: *The owner occupies the main house on site.* *W/D access in the garage area is provided for guests although that area is for owner storage.* *The dock is NOT currently available for guest use.*

  • A very early morning outing at Botany Bay on Edisto Island. I had to start from my hotel at 3 AM to make it to this location before dawn. Botany Bay Plantation is a nature preserve and has regulated visitor hours. Gates open 30 minutes before sunrise - I wish they'd open a little sooner as the golden hour is pretty much more than half way done by the time one can make it to the beach. Nevertheless, it's a great location to visit at sunrise, especially if there are high clouds to add drama. Recommended to visit when the tide is ebbing as you then get the shadows of the trees, which to my eyes add more depth to the image. On this day, there was a bank of low clouds that prevented too much color but it was a great sunrise to witness nonetheless. The trees have so much character and add so much to the image. It's hard to look at the remnants of these trees and not imagine the onslaught they've withstood at the hands of mother nature. #WeekendGetAwayForTheFamily #colorful #USA #weekend #treetrove #blue

We had an awesome stay at this place! I’ve been visiting Edisto for many years and usually stay closer to the beach, but a last minute plan to join a bird watching excursion led me to find this cute apartment. I so enjoyed the beautiful marsh view and the vibe of the area. The apartment had everything we needed. It’s decorated beautifully and was very pleasant and relaxing to come ‘home’ to after a day of hiking and exploring. I will definitely stay here again! I highly recommend visiting the art gallery just up the street.

Great place for short getaway

Nice little garage apartment that’s convenient to the beach/state park/restaurants. Perfect to relax for a couple of days at the beach as long as you aren’t someone who has to walk out the back door and see the ocean. Short <5 min drive from the state park and we spent most of both days at the beach campground with friends who were down for the week. Allowed wife to ease into the camping experience without having to sleep in a tent and fight off the raccoons.

Oyster Factory Rd. Property

Nice rental. Renters need to be able to manage the steps going upstairs. The TV situation is our only complaint. Hard to use and no instructions. Can't get sports or regular shows. Roku is dominant with this tv system and streaming services are all over the place. Should be an easy problem to correct otherwise we wouldn't stay here again which would be a shame. Property is near new and very clean.

Loved the "Palmetto Hut"!

Nice, new, clean accommodations with plenty of room and space for the two of us. Loved the natural setting with beautiful views and wildlife. Parking was able to accommodate my truck and boat perfectly. The owner was very nice and hospitable. Would most certainly stay there again!
