    Welcome to The Mudminnow, a renovated Edisto Beach home just one block from Beach Access 12. Relax on the oversized screened porch overlooking the lagoon, walk to the beach, and endjoy the nearby restaurants, shops, and the marina. Inside, enjoy site-finished hardwood floors, updated bathrooms, comfortable family spaces, and thoughtful beach amenities.



    The Space:

    Experience one of Edisto’s best porches, where you can relax and unwind. Your private outdoor oasis features over 350 sq. ft. of screened-in comfort and an additional 300 sq. ft. open deck, all overlooking the peaceful lagoon. It's the perfect spot for your morning coffee or evening cocktails, offering a front-row seat for viewing local wildlife like egrets, herons, deer, turtles, etc.



    We are just a short walk from the beach, putting the sand and surf right at your fingertips. Inside, you'll find a bright, airy, and clean home with a welcoming coastal theme. We have poured our hearts into renovating this space, and key features include:

    - Site-finished oak hardwoods throughout the home.

    - Fresh paint, new vanities, and modern fixtures.

    - An open-plan living area with a 55” TV, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring.

    - A fully updated master bathroom with a beautiful new tiled walk-in shower.



    Guest Access:

    You will have private access to the entire property throughout your stay. Enjoy a seamless self-check-in process using a combination deadbolt lock. Detailed instructions and your unique access code will be provided before your arrival.



    The Neighborhood:

    Explore the charm of Edisto Island from our home! You'll find yourself conveniently close to a variety of attractions. Enjoy the sun and sand at Edisto Beach, a short walk from the house. For your essentials, a grocery store is easily accessible. Discover unique finds at local shops, and grab a coffee at a nearby coffee shop. Indulge in delicious meals at various restaurants, all within a comfortable distance. Golf enthusiasts can tee off at The Plantation Golf Course. Nature lovers can explore the beauty of Botany Bay and Edisto Beach State Park. For marine adventures, visit Edisto Marina. Don't miss the fascinating Edisto Serpentarium, perfect for a family outing.



    Getting Around:

    While exploring Edisto Island, consider renting a golf cart or bikes to get around and discover the island's charm. You'll find convenient beach access just a short walk away, only a couple hundred yards from the property.

    Please note that you will receive detailed check-in and check-out instructions at least 24 hours before your arrival to ensure a seamless start to your vacation. Great vacation home for our time at Edisto Island. It is a short walk to the beach, but in a very peaceful location. We enjoyed seeing the turtles out by the water each day behind the house. Very easy communication with Tyler, and would definitely stay here again.

The house was clean, very well stocked in kitchen with utensils, dishes, etc. beds were comfortable and we slept well. We walked to the beach several times. Also thanks for having a cart and extra beach chairs to be able to use.

Perfect Weekend

Home and Host were wonderful. We were in town for tournament and stayed in Edisto. Porch is fantastic and a quick walk to the beach. Thank you for a great weekend.

Relaxing island stay

Cottage was pretty much what we were looking for: comfortable, convenience to the beach, and relatively reasonably prices. Would definitely benefit from a couple of chaise lounges on the porch.

As a young family of 5- this house was perfect for our needs! After minor an issue at check in, the host was extremely communicative and fixed the issue. The house was a short walking distance from beach access 12. The house itself had an amazing screen porch, toddler friendly kitchen things, toys, games, baby gates, etc! The kitchen was well stocked with various dishes. The decor was cute and overall homey. The house seemed to stay cool overall without having to change a/c. Overall a great experience and looking forward to staying at MudMinnow again!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Edisto Beach! The property was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. The location was ideal—just a short walk to the beach, with beautiful views and a peaceful atmosphere. The home was well-stocked with everything we needed, from kitchen essentials to beach gear, making it easy to relax and enjoy our time. Communication with the host was smooth and responsive, and check-in was a breeze. Edisto Beach itself is a hidden gem—quiet, charming, and full of natural beauty. We can't wait to come back!

Business Stay

We were working at the Edisto Fire Department and this house was perfect for us. The location was great and the porch was the best part. We truly enjoyed our overnight stay and wish it could have been longer. Tyler was a pleasure to work with. Our team works at Edisto annually and we plan to make this our new place to stay.

Long weekend paradise!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this property. The house was great and the porch was phenomenal. The bed was extremely comfortable and we had no issues with hot water or water pressure. The location was great!! It was a quick walk to the beach and not far at all from the shops and restaurants. Would definitely stay here again in the future!!

Great spot for families

A short drive from Charleston, we love Edisto and this was a fantastic place for our family. Close enough to the beach to hear the waves crashing with a nice pond view. Would totally book again. A short drive to the State Park or the education center off the island. Our toddler loved the basket of toys. Kitchen has plenty of space for cooking a meal or prepping a Frogmore stew. Maybe next time we’ll bring the boat or bikes.

Wonderful weekend celebrating our son's engagment!!

This home is an absolute gem. It is a true combination of an old style Edisto beach cottage with updated features. The location is about a 5 minute walk to the beach. I can honestly say this is one of the very best homes I have rented on VRBO. It exceeded my expectaions and the owners were so easy to work and communicate with. I am already looking at dates to return this summer! You will not be dissappointed.

We were well pleased with the “Mud Minnow”! The host Tyler was very prompt in responding. He sent a message asking if check-in went ok! All the instructions sent were accurate! House was very clean and stocked with essentials, and nicely decorated. Enjoyed watching the wildlife around the lagoon! Only bad thing was our time spent there was too short!! Will definitely keep this place in mind when renting again! Thank you!!

Family First

Mudminnow is an amazing house. The serenity of the back porch pulled my family together and allowed us to fellowship more in one week than we have in the last year. Every morning a family member would roll out of bed, get a cup of coffee and head straight to the back porch. The birds would sing, the oak trees would sway and the chimes would make music that restored our souls. Enough can’t be said about how kind and responsive Tyler was to the needs of my family. The house was fully stocked with every need that arose. It is perfectly laid out and has plenty of room for family bonding. The Mudminnow is a magical place on a magical island. We can’t wait to return.
