Getting Around:

By tram: This is your best option. Saughton and Balgreen tram stops are nearby. Trams run directly to Princes Street and St Andrew Square in roughly 15–20 minutes, and to Edinburgh Airport in roughly 15–20 minutes.



By bus: Lothian Buses run frequent services along nearby main roads into the city centre. Day tickets are good value for groups. Check the Lothian Buses or Transport for Edinburgh app for routes and times.



By train: Haymarket Station is a short tram or bus ride away, with fast trains to Glasgow, Stirling, the Highlands and beyond.



By car: The city bypass and the M8 and M9 are close, which makes day trips easy. City-centre parking is expensive, so the tram is easier for sightseeing. Also note the Edinburgh Low Emission Zone if you’re driving into the centre.



By taxi or Uber: These are widely available. Expect around 15 minutes to the airport and 15–20 minutes to the city centre, depending on traffic.



From the airport: Take the tram directly to Saughton or Balgreen and walk a few minutes to the house.
