Built on an old Apple Orchard that was developed into a small dirt-road neighborhood with a colonial and cozy feel, it makes you imagine you have traveled back in time. Walking up to the home you are greeted by a classic rocker porch where you can spend your mornings. Step inside and you are welcomed to an open concept kitchen-dining-living space that allows you to easily entertain friends and family alike. And should a rainy day try to spoil your stay, you’ll find games, puzzles, books, and movies galore for all ages. You’ll want to come back again to your home away from home!

This home is a 1/4 mile from Cannonball Park, a village green that is routinely decorated by the town for holidays. Across from the park is the library and school playground. Edgartown Golf Club is less than 1/4 mile away, a great place for morning walks. Three-quarters of a mile east you find Edgartown’s Main Street and downtown, including the wharf, harbor, shopping, restaurants, and the Chappaquiddick Ferry. Oak Bluffs downtown and ferry dock are only 6.5 miles away. Take the scenic Beach Road and go over the famous Jaws Bridge only 3 miles away! Vineyard Haven is just over 7.5 miles via the inland route. Be sure to stop at Island Alpaca a half mile past the rotary – a fun place for everyone!

Annual MV Vacation

The house was clean and had everything we needed to thoroughly enjoy our stay. There was constant communication leading up to check in and then check out. The house is in a quiet neighborhood and just a short walk to town. Would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful stay and would highly recommend!

From check in process to check out, it was incredibly easy and convenient. House is conveniently located near downtown Edgartown which made it super easy! We brought our dogs and the fenced in yard was key, super dog friendly. Overall was a great stay and would stay again! Thank you for a great trip!

Great property, attention to detail

Was really impressed with the thought and effort that went into making things seamless and easy. All the cupboards in kitchen were labeled with their contents. All the light switches labeled to what they control. Extra trash bags and paper towels were provided. Plenty of towels available for bath/beach. Laundry in basement. Board games in the living room for the kids. Extra beach chair. Hose spicket for rinsing feet off coming back from beach. House was clean and ready. 10 minute walk to center of town; 15 minutes to the harbor. 3 miles,10 min drive to South Beach. Quiet and friendly neighborhood. Nice front yard. Our dog appreciated having some space to lounge on the lawn, front porch and back deck. The backyard was not 100% fenced in (think it was being fixed??) but a friendly dog from the neighbors made its way into our yard to say hi one day, lol. Would certainly recommend for a small family and would stay here again. Thank you!

We had a little trouble with the key lock boxes (one wouldn't open, the other wouldn't close) and the back yard fence had a break (so we got to meet the neighbor dog, the lovely Sadie!!), but otherwise, everything was top notch! Thanks so much for a marvelous stay.

Stones throw from town center

Location was great. House was in a quite area close enough to walk into Edgartown. The house had everything available if you just wanted to stay in and cook or grill for dinner. Games, Wi-Fi, and cable were all available for the few rainy days while we were there.

Great location close to Edgartown

This was our second stay at the property, we came back because it was such a great stay the first time. Great location close to Edgartown, plenty of space for us and the dogs. Kitchen is clearly labeled, which means it’s super easy for us to navigate cooking during our stay.

Little house in edgartown

Overall great location and enough space/if not more for a family of 3! The house is a tribute to a family member and this is very lovely- I would say a bit outdated / a bit too much furniture but one can tell it is well cared for property. Would stay again, no doubt

Great house in an awesome location

We had a lovely stay at this property in early July (myself, my husband, our two kids, and our pup). The location can’t be beat, especially with how hard it can be to find parking in Edgartown. We could easily walk in for coffee in the morning and dinner in the evening. The house itself was clean and cozy, and had some of the most comfortable beds we’ve experienced. The kitchen is fully stocked (and the cabinets thoughtfully labeled), and the backyard and deck are great. One other lovely feature is the information about the original owner who built the house, and his inspiring life, which made us feel more connected to the home. We did have a few hiccups (when we arrived, one of the beds was broken, and the trash bins outside were already full to the brim without room for us to add anything; then the coffee maker broke), but the property managers were extremely apologetic and responsive, and did their best to make things right. We would definitely stay here again.

Great Location and great for dogs

Perfect house for a weekend getaway. We were able to bring our black lab and it was perfect for him with a fenced in yard and one level house. Very clean, and conveniently located close to downtown. We were able to walk to dinner and shops each day. House needs updating but worked great for us. Would stay again.

Old Orchard review

This was a very nice house in a nice location within walking distance of downtown Edgartown. It was very comfortable for our group of 7. The house is old with features from several decades ago, but everything was working well. We appreciated the history of the house as the original owner Don, was a WWII combat veteran who met his wife on the island. We have great respect for that. We would definitely recommend this house to others.
