"We attended a wedding at Friars Carse over 20 years ago and as it was a convenient stop on our way to the highlands, thought we would try it again. I was afraid it may not have aged well but it is actually even better than I remembered. It is a beautiful place to stay, housekeeping is excellent, staff are helpful and discreetly friendly and it is just so relaxing. We stayed in Redwood which I believe is the honeymoon suite and nothing could be more idyllic. Very much looking forward to future...

"Lovely comfortable lodge with everything needed for an enjoyable stay. Fantastic dog walking from the doorstep in the very quiet forest. Short drive to beautiful Mersehead RSPB reserve and Arbigland Gardens. "

"Abgelegens, etwas spezielles B&B, das aber seinen Reiz hat. 20 Minuten Autofahrt bis Castle Douglas mit Restaurants. Grosse Zimmer. Z.T. etwas ins Alter gekommen. Da Ende Saison, Frühstücksangebot doch etwas eingeschränkt. Insgesamt aber doch ok, wenn auch nicht ganz günstig."
