Casa de campo de Martha's Shore

  • Una cabaña original de pescadores del siglo XVIII con magníficas vistas sobre el estuario de Solway con estufa de leña y acceso para sillas de ruedas.
    Estas cabañas de vacaciones independientes están ubicadas en un lugar tranquilo, con vistas panorámicas al campo y al estuario del Nith. Tienen su propio jardín y han sido amuebladas y equipadas según el estándar "4 Star" de la STB. Conheath Gatelodge es una casa de campo tradicional georgiana con muchas características originales, mientras que Martha's Shore Cottage era una casa de pescadores original que data de 1700: generaciones de la familia artística de Martha vivían aquí y su padre era el albañil de la finca y piedra tallada para el Masia del propietario. Hay encantadores paseos junto al río desde la puerta con abundantes aves y vida silvestre para observar. Hay muchas carreteras tranquilas ideales para el ciclismo, y excelentes marismas de aves silvestres que rodean el castillo de Caerlaverock, a 3 millas de distancia. This was our second holiday at Martha's Shore Cottage.

This was our second holiday at Martha's Shore Cottage. We chose it partly because we knew that it was entirely suitable for my wife, who is a wheelchair user, and our dog, who we could let wander around the garden without worrying that she would get through the fence, and partly because of the wonderful views from the cottage. Great cottage in a fantastic location on the banks of the river Nith.

Great cottage in a fantastic location on the banks of the river Nith. Lovely views and plenty of bird life on the river. Even saw the otters. Cottage is large and comfortable. The dog loved the garden - which is very secure. I would return.

A return visit for us having stayed last year.

A return visit for us having stayed last year. A LOVELY cottage which ticks all the boxes for us and that includes our dog who loves it. A secure garden is a must for any cottage we stay in and this one is very secure. Looking out of the French door over the river and hills opposite is a delight with numerous birds, the evening exodus of gulls returning to the open sea grabs our attention every night. Lucky this year with the weather resulting in stunning sunsets. Looking forward to returning again.

Excellent (and unusual) to find a cottage with proper accommodation for those with limited mobility. The owner obviously understands what this really means. Thanks, especially for supportive chairs with arms as well as a comfortable sofa. The cottage is suitable and attractive to younger, more active members of the family but does not exclude the older members. Also, good to have an ever-changing bird sanctuary outside the kitchen window!

We absolutely adored this cottage.

We absolutely adored this cottage. It’s size was ideal and with extra wide doorways that made it very easy to get around with a wheelchair. It is beautifully kept and well equipped for all our needs. It’s location is second to none, being able to watch river life come and go is wonderfully relaxing. I’ll be very happy to recommend this cottage, and I’d be quite happy to go back sometime soon 10/10
