Waterfront Historic Villa, beautiful Renaissance garden, heated swimming pool

The waterfront Villa features a well-balanced fusion between historical and contemporary design. It’s historic Renaissance Garden is one of the best preserved in the region and covers an area of over 1000 m2. A modern heated swimming pool dominates part of the garden as if it's been there for centuries. Historic walls encircle the property. Walk the beautiful renaissance walkways with grapevine pergolas above to provide shade. This place was chosen centuries ago as the place to enjoy and relax.

A great variety of fruit trees, flowers and decorative plants can be seen and enjoyed in the garden. Different types of grapes, orange trees, lemon trees, pomegranate trees, fig trees, plum trees, a medlar tree and other fruit trees are all planted and it’s fruit can be enjoyed depending on the season.

Organic tomatoes, eggplant, zucchini and other vegetables can be picked right in the Garden.

It is possible to play badminton or volleyball in the garden. There is an outdoor ping-pong table.

The waterfront Villa has a big terrace with a stunning view of the shore.

The swimming pool features counter-current swimming that can be used as a powerful massage, 2 massage benches and colorful led lights for a night swim and relaxation

Every room has a separate air conditioning unit and a Smart TV (Netfix, Amazon). There’s a Smart TV in the living room area as well.

There are 5 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms with big windows that provide beautiful views, big open plan living room area that includes kitchen and dining plus a big terrace right above the sea and a small terrace that overlooks the garden.

It is possible to arrange :

Deliveries (food and beverage upon request) so that our guests do not have to leave the property, minimizing Covid-19 risk

Various speed boat trips to the islands around Dubrovnik with skipper that our guests embark right in front of the property

An absolute gem

From beginning to end our stay at this property was above and beyond. Pictures cannot do justice to the gardens and pool area. Slavica and her husband have kept the charm of this 500 year old property and upgraded it beautifully. Slavica was a marvelous host. Her welcoming personality made us feel right at home. She had a true gourmet tray and wine ready for us when we arrived. Overall a fantastic experience and our favorite VRBO property ever.

Like Visiting Old Friends

This was our first visit to Croatia, and staying at Slavica and Marijo’s beautiful property in Mokosica made it truly unforgettable. Located just outside the busy Old Town, the house offered the perfect balance of peace and convenience. Despite arriving late after delayed flights, Slavica and Marijo greeted us with warmth, giving us a tour and even offering fresh fruit from their garden and a platter of local meats, cheeses, and homemade jams. Their hospitality was beyond anything we’ve ever experienced - they made us feel like old friends from the moment we arrived. The house is steeped in Croatian and family history, a true reflection of Croatia's resilience. The house is a blend of historic charm and modern luxury, with spacious, comfortable rooms and thoughtful details everywhere, like toiletries upstairs and sunscreen by the pool. Slavica and Marijo went out of their way to ensure our stay was flawless. From arranging a last-minute doctor’s visit with their family physician for me to personally helping us with our itinerary and fishing trip, their dedication to making our trip special was remarkable. To top it off, on Slavica’s birthday, she surprised us with homemade desserts to celebrate! That’s just the kind of people Slavica and Marijo are - generous, thoughtful, and genuinely welcoming. Leaving felt like saying goodbye to family. If you’re looking for a welcoming, authentic, and unforgettable Dubrovnik experience, this is the place to stay. No hotel can compare.

Family Holiday

Found Dubrovnik an amazing experience and only enhanced by the amount of time and effort the host put into our stay in there superbly equiped stunning period house within a few steps of the sea. The pool and all of its toys was amazing so clean and inviting. The amount of items provided at the house was exceptional. A very much my place to stay if you are wanting to experience all Dubrovnik has to offer and only 15 minutes away by car. Lovely thank you so much.

Amazing! 1000/10 experience!

This was a wonderful, magical, location. The house, the property, the pool... it was all as beautiful as the pictures show. It was relaxing, comfortable, spacious, and unique. We enjoyed staying near but outside of Dubrovnik as it gave us a place of more calm after being in the tourist crowds. Slavica and Marijo are amazing hosts. Their care of their guests are unparalleled. We arrived from a long day of travel to a charcuterie board, croissants, and wine. There was milk and eggs in the fridge. We have traveled a lot and have never experienced this before. In addition, they helped setup a private boat tour of the islands that picked us up outside of the house. They were there with suggestions for restaurants, parking, tours, etc. We felt very well cared for and their place was so much fun to stay at that we took half a day from our touring to just relax and enjoy the pool and house. Highly recommend!

Amazing stay in lovely historic house!

Wow…what not to say! Our stay was absolutely fantastic! Slavica was kind and generous and went out of her way to make the space and our short stay phenomenal! She accommodated our request for an early arrival due to flight times and greeted us with an amazing charcuterie & veggie salad from her garden. The grounds were gorgeous and we could have easily spent a week enjoying everything about this house! Will recommend to all and definitely come again!

Exceptional

This is a lovely property in a beautiful location with stunning gardens - no words or photos can really do it justice. It was such a treat for our family/friend group to stay here for the last two nights of our holiday in Croatia. The house itself is lovely and the owners have provided for every comfort and convenience. The gardens and outdoor areas are the most beautiful any of us had ever experienced at a rental property and are what really make this home special. I would highly recommend this listing for a large group and would suggest that you build in enough time to spend at least a whole day just enjoying the property. We wish we had.

Like coming home

Mokosica is just north of Dubrovnik proper, out of the crowds but easy access to all south Croatia has to offer. Slavica is the perfect host, the home is beautiful and comfortable, and so well stocked it is over the top. A lush garden, warm pool, fresh food, great wine; and that's all at the house! Basically no reason to leave, except the country is so welcoming day trips beckon. Slavica helped arrange dinner reservations, boat outings, all of it. Like have your own personal tour company, all bespoke and very personal. My highest recommendation from someone who appreciates good living.

Croatia Trip, Dubronik

The house was awesome. Inside has nice bedrooms with AC that is very good. Nice places and an extremely large patio on top of the garage. Pool is top notch. Large, cool accessories and just laid out perfectly. Also out side sitting areas are perfect for the location. It is about 7 min by car to Old Town. Very easy to get Uber and Taxis. Would definitiely rent again. My family raved about the house.

Great time

We had a fabulous time with slavica and her family. She helped us arrange trip and was always on hand if we needed anything. Had prepared us an amazing meal when we arrived and even made me a birthday cake!! The house and pool are great, we loved all the tortoises walking around the garden while we were playing in the pool. Then in the evening switching to the terrace and watching the boats sail by with a well earned drink. Would highly recommend and can’t wait To go back!!

Group of 9 Unanimously Agrees : Best Rental Ever

This property is just as beautiful as it is in the pictures. The location is close enough for a short, cheap Uber into Old Town. There is fresh fruit to eat in the garden. You can swim in the sea in front of the house, and the pool is heated. Most importantly, the host and her family are amazing. They made our stay exceed all expectations. They helped secure reservations at restaurants we were unable to obtain ourselves. They prepared us food after our flight was delayed and we arrived late at night. They were so happy to help in every way possible. If you are coming to Dubrovnik, this property is an absolute must!

Amazing

We had the most wonderful holiday at Slavicas home. In all of our Villa holidays, this one was definitely one of the best. Absolutely wonderful host who could not have been more attentive and thoughtful, her hospitality made the week so special . The home is beautiful and the pool and outdoor space is great, added bonus of ample homegrown fruit and vegetables. After such a long time unable to travel it was such a treat. Thank you so much, we will be back!

A wonderful stay in beautiful surroundings

This villa has everything you need for a comfortable and peaceful stay whilst situated on the water only a short distance from Dubrovnik. Our family loved the gardens which provided shade and areas for the children (and adults) to explore. There are fruit trees, a vegetable garden and many outdoor seating areas in addition to a grill. The highlight for all of us was the sparkling pool where we spent many happy hours. Inside this historic villa there was plenty of space for the six of us; it has been carefully and tastefully renovated to provide modern bathrooms and a very practical kitchen. We very much enjoyed meeting the delightful owners who were on hand to assist and advise. We really appreciated the thought that Slavica had put into making sure that the children would be well catered for and we very much enjoyed the delicious fare that we were able to partake in. There is a supermarket close by and a restaurant serving excellent food which also offers a delivery service which makes life easy after a busy day exploring. We do not hesitate to recommend this wonderful home.

Absolutely Special Property with Historic Charm with Modern Ammenities

Staying in this historic property was one of the highlights of our Croatian vacation. Definitely the best part of the Dubrovnik area. After battling the crowds in the tourist destinations, returning to the peacefulness of this home was amazing. The rooms are completely renovated and brand new. Gorgeous baths, bedrooms and kitchen. The kitchen is wonderfully stocked. And again, everything brand new. There is a small market around the corner you can walk to that has all the necessities. We loved the outdoor patio spaces. The large space overlooking the water is perfect for a nighttime snack and cocktail. The second patio, which is covered, overlooks the back garden and mountains beyond and was very beautiful and useful for our one drizzly day. The walled garden and pool area is breathtaking. It has the feeling of having a resort all to yourself. I loved the fruit trees, and we snacked on figs, grapes and plums while lounging at the salt water pool. Again, the pool and furnishings are brand new. Breakfast was outside each morning at one of the dining areas (there are two). The grapevine covered couches overlooking the pool and mountains beyond is a special haven. The owners are gracious and responsive. I immediately liked both of them and they made me feel right at home. They were very helpful with recommendations on site seeing, restaurants, and excursions. We very much recommend the boat excursion to the Elafiti islands. The boat picks you up and drops you off right in front of the house. Can't beat that! The home is perfect for a large group or a romantic getaway. There are many places on the property to come together or slip away by yourself for some peacefulness. For our visit, there were just the two of us and we loved every bit of it. We highly recommend this property. I wish our stay was longer.
