It was a very interesting experience for us because we came from a large city. The house is located in the middle of cornfields, surrounded by endless greenery. It was incredibly quiet, and the fresh scent of nature was so refreshing.
The house itself is old but very clean. I especially loved the fresh laundry scent of the bed sheets. You could tell that, even though the home is older, it was thoughtfully prepared and truly guest-ready.
Since it is an older house, the water drainage was a little slow, but it wasn’t a major issue. The location was very convenient for visiting both Cave of the Mounds and Galena, making it easy to plan day trips.
The cornfields and wind turbines created beautiful scenery that was unlike anything we see in the city. Personally, I think this property would be even more magical in the fall, when the seasonal colors would make the peaceful surroundings even more breathtaking.
The owner communicated clearly throughout our stay, which made everything easy and stress-free. Overall, we had a unique and enjoyable experience, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet countryside getaway.
