Train- didn't even hear it. Room A/C- premium loft suite, 1 of 2 worked was not fixed. Building- beautiful well restored to current standards. Restaurant- Cyprus and Oak, incredible. Bar- a must attend like the restaurant. Staff- super polite and helpful to every request. A bucket list experience, to include Buffalo Trace . Residents, shops and locals- made you feelh like you were always home.

I enjoyed the modern and sleek design of the property in general and my room in particular. The room was both inviting and superbly designed for maxim utility of space without skimping on the amenities. Each staff member I encountered was kind. helpful, welcoming and professional, and was given the perfect room for my business trip. It had a super-comfortable pillow-top bed dressed in clean, crisp white sheets and bedding and I liked the use of the sliding barn-door style entrance to the bathroom. The modern design also incorporated laminate flooring which totally eliminated the icks I get from hotel carpets. This hotel seems to have been designed with the help of business-travelers by a company who listens to it's customers. The breakfast lobby was also inviting and well designed and had a great selection of food. This was the first time I have stayed at a Holiday Inn Express in a long time, but this property had everything I could ask for from a roadside hotel. I will definitely be seeking out this brand, if not this exact property on my next trip.

My wife loved this hotel and I was happy about that. We traveled as a family of 4 with our 13 year old dog. Two "kids" in their early 20s. My wife and I loved the decor downstairs, the condition of the lobby and the restaurant/bar, the outside patios. The restaurant (Fiddletree) produced very nice breakfasts, fairly reasonably priced. We ate there both mornings of our stay. The staff was excellent and friendly across the board. The common areas were really inviting for just hanging out / relaxing. There were some fireplaces and lounges that we didnt get to use because of the intense heat alternating with rain, but those looked inviting too. Our room was large (one of the family suites) and it was perfect for us. Painted concrete (I think) floors meant less to worry about with the dog or spills. The king bed in a separate room (with large tv) was really comfortable. Two single beds in the front room worked great for our adult children. The separate TV area with a full sized couch meant a 5th person could sleep in that room with no problem. The bathroom was a little tight but was nicely appointed. We had a step-in shower/tub. Next time we are in Lexington, we will look at the Elwood Hotel first. Fwiw, its about two miles up Broadway into the heart of downtown Lexington and about a mile or two to the UK football stadium or campus. There are some food options on Broadway that are easily reached. Neighborhood is quiet and felt safe. Parking was easy and free.
