Our stay for a large family reunion was pleasant and mostly enjoyable. We were significantly inconvenienced by a water outage due to a utility repair that was scheduled by the city at short notice. Check in:Check in process was simple and easy. Everything was ready and clean upon arrival. We were not informed that the owner lives with his dog in the basement, which caused some alarm when we heard loud barking when unloading luggage and moving in.House and neighborhood: The rental is a very old home (over 100 years old) in a very quiet and safe-feeling neighborhood adjacent to a large church. The home has been refurbished and updated (especially all the bathrooms). The rooms and the furnishings have a certain charm to them (for example, creaky stairs). The backyard is quaint with lots of shade but needs some cleaning and updates.Kitchen:The kitchen and pantry were cramped but functional. All appliances worked except the coffee makers, which was not fun. There was also no toaster. We used the kitchen a lot and quickly adapted to its size. There were plenty of plates, cups, silverware, and cooking utensils. The dining room was spacious.Bedrooms and bathrooms:The attic level bedrooms and gaming area were the most recently updated. All bedrooms were comfortable. All bathrooms and toilets were relatively updated, functional and very clean. Towels were provided but not soaps or shampoos. Overall:Despite some hiccups, we had a pleasant stay in a convenient location.
