Work stay

The building was no where near abysmal as others have said. We enjoyed the elevator and it operated without a fault. The room itself would be worth it even if you hated the building and had to take the stairs. 10/10

This review is going to come with LOTS of caveats. Let me start by say that the space it self was gorgeous. A lot of other reviewers have said this and I will echo them: the building it is in is repulsive from the standpoint that it is old, run down, and smells terrible. You can however see underneath all that, the beauty of what the building would have looked like when it was new. the elevator. It's an old freight or service elevator. I used it probably 15-20 times during my stay and it worked flawlessly as long as you have both doors shut all the way. If you try to call it and it doesn't start running it is because it is stuck on another floor because someone did not shut both doors all the way. So...just shut them I personally thought the elevator was cool from a history and architectural standpoint, but I understand that some people will find it terrifying, which brings me to...the stairs. This room is on the 4th floor. The stairs start out pleasant enough, but get progressively longer and steeper each floor you go up. Like they are doable just fine, but with bags and other things they are a little bit of a challenge. The room is beautiful and smelled great. It's a giant studio space with a gorgeous wood floor. It has huge windows that overlook the street and is right across from the Motor City casino, which is pretty at night. Kitchen is minimal but functional, bathroom wasn't terrible- the shower took a long time to warm up. Goodplace if you can overlook the cons

Value / Size / Location

This property was worth the value, for the size of the loft, you get open air and being on the top floor gives you a better view from the windows. The location is a little rough, parking is off street but not secure. Picking up your key is a lock box outside and if you are there during the day it is not an issue, late at night or very early morning in the dark makes it hard to obtain access to the key. The elevator is the original and take a little strength to use, but after a few days you get used to it. Value is the top seller here, the view is not the best. The hallways and open areas need an update and cleaning, but location to downtown is a plus.

Great for price.

The loft itself was amazing. Old but fine. Needs a little TLC in some areas but super cute! Bathroom tub needs replacing. Beautiful view of the sunset. Was quiet. The building however is awful. It stunk, Is very old, creepy even. Lots of stairs as I wouldn't take the sketchy elevator. If you can deal with that, the loft is wonderful.

Great location

Overall the actual loft is as described, and look just like the pictures. The location is prime, is close to a lot of the places i planned to visit. The building itself need a lot of updates(the elevator was down the whole stay) but it is an older building. For the most part we enjoyed out stay.

Spacious Loft

Had a great weekend staying in this apartment. The space was advertised and was even bigger than we expected. We were close to downtown and were able to explore easily. Check-in/Check-out were easy and smooth. Communication was overall very good.

The description of the property location was misleading and plainly wrong. This property is in an unsafe location of Detroit. I did not even enter the building due to not feeling safe to go inside.

Anniversary weekend

Overall we enjoyed the property. Ashley was a very responsive host. There were things we didn't like that are definitely out of her control, party in the building till the wee hours, the building itself is in need of much repair, the hot water didn't work (which she tried very hard to rectify). The loft itself is very cute, needs a couple little touch ups here and there but overall very nice. Would like to see the building owner take care of the much needed repairs and give the building some tlc however.

Weekend Getaway to D-Town

Cute loft with all of the amenities needed for a nice few days in Detroit. Easy check-in with great communication from the host. Quiet setting close to downtown and within walking distance to two breweries. Too cold to do much else, but getting out of our house was the end goal. Priced Well!
