"There was nothing we didn't like about the Hotel. The whole hotel has had a massive upgrade / renovation and for the cost of the accommodation, it represents top value. We ate at the restaurant , ( reluctantly ) after reading some less favorable reviews , and decided the reviewers, who had left those reviews must have woken up on the wrong side of the bed. "Reception staff were excellent. TV in room didn’t work. Pool area was very clean. The restaurant for breakfast was very good but service in the evening wasn’t very good, no cutlery, no salt on the table, getting staff attention was hard work but appreciate there was training of new staff."

"Unsauberes Bad (2 benutzte Kaugummi auf dem Boden), schmutziger Wannenrand. Einfallsloses und eintöniges Frühstücksangebot. Achtung: An den Wochenenden sehr laute Diskomusik von draußen bis 2 Uhr nachts, auch geschlossene Fenster helfen da nicht! Außerdem vermiesen einen laute Überfahrten von versenkten Poller direkt vor dem Hotel. Die öffentlichen Räume sind nicht täglich gesäubert worden- tagelang Tissues und Hundekot auf den Treppen. Ein Aufenthalt ist nicht zu empfehlen."

"The location is remote, peaceful and lovely. It's an old building and full of character with huge, comfortable rooms. All the staff were helpful. Breakfasts were a little limited, but adequate. We didn't enjoy the one dinner we had, but it was good value. Overall I'd recommend this hotel for its excellent value accommodation and location."

"With so many negative reviews regarding the size of the room, we paid extra for their bigger room. On arrival we received a friendly welcome and were shown to our room. The entrance to the rooms was having a mould problem, so an extractor had been installed and reed diffuser to mask the smell. The room itself was comfortable, clean, no damp smells which I feared on entry to the block. "The room did the job - but numerous issues. Missing some basic necessities like a bedside light. Had to use the public wifi from the bar downstairs which was choppy at best. The problems started right from the beginning. Check in according to the website was 10:00pm. But at 8:30pm I had a message saying I wouldn't be able to check in after 9 as the bar shuts at that point. I was on a train so unable to get there for that time, and somebody very kindly stayed to let me in, but they still...

"Check in was easy and friendly, a lovely collie welcomed me into the yard as well! The Tack room was clean and comfortable and good for my brief stay. I hadn't appreciated how noisy the motorway would be and so had to close the windows in the bedroom to be able to get to sleep. Apart from that it would be a nice place to stay to explore the area. I was up very early in the morning, and it was perfect for my requirements."

"Everything was perfect from start to finish. The communication from the start was fabulous. Check in was really smooth and accommodating and the house was wonderful.
