"We had thought we booked the room shown on the website but that was not what we got. It was very plain, the bathroom needed pairing and no wall pictures or anything and the beds were terrible. Staff tried a little giving us a discount on supper, but hardly making up for our disappointment of looking forward to staying in a Castle environment. Especially with the cost."

"The outside of hotel is nice and the area. Rooms are big but need to be updated, especially the bed and bathroom, also was no extra toilet paper. Things I did not like, someone knocking at my door at 11pm and running off, when I mention to front desk they were like dont know but they do with people checking in, also got charge extra 25 pounds at check out and they cannot explain why or even respond to me. They put us in a room , right at front of stairs did not like that."

"Our stay at the Mertrick Bothy was just wonderful - we found everything we needed for a few days and more ... nature, calm, great interior design, heavenly bedding and great hosts. I could just continue like that or state: I would always come back and in best case much longer!!"
