I would have given this place 2 stars because of the location near the castle... until I discovered that if you stayed at the bottom, you could drive all the way to the very top and pay to park there. Plus, there are very few places to eat near the top.
I had been really looking forward to our stay here. However, disappointment began on the way in: You have to pass through the blue cloud of the smoking area immediately outside the door to gain access to the main entrance.
Once checked in - Chloe (I think that was her name) was lovely - we discovered that the lift only goes to the basement, ground floor and 3rd floor. We were on the 2nd and so had to drag our luggage up 2 long flights of stairs. There was no bell boy.
We had booked one of the Premier Suites. There was only one hand towel and no face cloth (policy) and only one small glass bottle of water (also policy); for two adults. The towels were old and frayed, and so stiff/rough they had no absorbency. The bed sheets were old, discolored and nubbly.
The breakfast is self-serve buffet: no fresh fruit for two days; no plain yogurt - "the delivery was late", for 2 days? When trays of hot food were empty, nobody replenished them unless asked. One small carafe of water for the whole room.
The seal on the toilet was gone and toilet water was coming up through the floorboards. Black mold!!
We asked for a room change. They protested the refund of the price difference.
The front desk mgr, Scott, was rude and condescending.
