Padang Padang is beautiful beach, it's slightly less touristy than some of the other beaches on the island (around kuta) and definitely smaller. I highly recommend the surf lessons, great fun, they make it easy for beginners and it's only about $22 USD per hour but more than likely you can bargain down the price!

"Let's see how many times I can use the word SPECTACULAR in one review. The rooms were spectacular. Our private backyard, pool, and garden were spectacular. The service from our butler was spectacular. Having a 24/7 driver to take us around was spectacular. The furnishings were spectacular. The room service food was spectacular.
