Wonderful Winter Getaway

Balcony was the best! Coffee on the balcony was a great start to the day. Kitchen has everything we need to cook our meals. We visit Destin often and the location is perfect! We also loved that the entire property is non smoking.We enjoyed an extended day and a swiffer mop would have been helpful in addition to the vacuum. Shower could use an update. We bought a mat for extra safety- to avoid slipping.Can't wait to return.

Heartless company

Day before our much anticipated and much needed get away my fiancé's brother committed suicide and your company refused to work with us AT ALL, saying you have policies you have to follow! There is an exception to every rule, and you could have bent a little. NEVER will I say a kind word about VRBO or VACASA to whom I always recommended to friends and family, NEVER again will I recommend such a heartless, uncaring, unsupportive, no family value company.

Best stay of our life!

We arrived to a super clean condo with an even better view than the pictures could describe. Rare to have such a clean place near the beach because of the sand but this outdid itself! There is tons of room, 2 separate toilet and sinks for privacy with guests, a huge balcony overlooking the water and tons of space, the bedroom has plenty of walking room. Do yourself a favor and stay here! There’s a small pool and easy showers outside the dock ove you walk up from te beach. It’s so convenient!

No internet, 2 out of the 2 1/4 day stays. Dust on fan and floors, dirty pillows, issues with elevator, never cool enough in condo, broken screen door and only able to use one door out to balcony

First time staying in this property and to put it lightly I can’t wait to book the exact same room again next year!! Very clean room that I feel even exceeded the photos I saw. The beachfront was excellent. 5⭐️🤩!!!

Great location!

Although the Condo as a whole seemed older, this unit was updated and clean. The location was perfect and the beach service was wonderful. We were disappointed that there wasn't blankets in the condo. There was also limited kitchen dishes and utensils like cereal bowls and cooking spray. The pool is on the opposite side of the condo from the beach, in the parking lot. The pool area was somewhat rundown and unkept. But the water was clean and warm. Overall a nice stay!

Crystal Sands - 204 B

I was a little concerned when we drove up to the overall building (it appeared to need a little TLC) but the unit is updated, very clean and had everything we needed! The only issue we had was that the internet didn’t work when we arrived but it was fixed after following the listed instructions and calling Cox. It was affordable and had everything we needed for a few days of rest!

Mayo's at Crystal Beach

The property itself was wonderful with the only exception that the cookware and dishes are VERY sparse. I like to cook and there was very little to use to cook with. The only other issues we had were that there was no one at the Crystal Sands property front desk anytime I went there to ask a question, and the only way to communicate with the management was to call the Vacasa general information line. There were no major issues to report, but we could never get the dishwasher to run. Again, not an issue because I don't mind hand-washing dishes, but I didn't want anyone to think we broke it. Also, there was no one there to reserve umbrellas and chairs on the beach, which was a hassle, because every umbrella seemed to be 'reserved' even though there was no name for a reservation on a lot of the chairs that some residents that came after us said were 'reserved'. We briefly disputed their claim and then ultimately politely moved. Being able to reserve them through the front desk was kind of an expectation that wasn't met because no one was ever there to do so or find out how to, if not through them. It became a non-issue, because we had friends not staying there that we went to another public beach with and no issues, since we brought our own beach accommodations. It just would have been nice to be able to spend a couple of our own days (early mornings before the searing heat) at 'our' beach having a reserved an umbrella and a set of chairs. After all, that was the whole point of getting a condo on the beach. Otherwise, we would have just gotten a house with the rest of our friends and carted everything every day to a public beach. Otherwise, the accommodations were nice and in a great location to the shopping centers and restaurants.

Did not meet our expectations

Needless to say we enjoy Destin and visit every year and we've stayed at Crystal Sands before but this unit did not meet our expectations. We arrived an hour early and called Vacasa to see if there was an option to check in early and were told no. We waited the hour and shortly after 4 pm the unit allowed us in. Upon walking into the room we noticed the sofa cushions were not set into the sofa so we fixed them but every time we sat on the sofa the cushions would slip however the sofa sleeper was utilized and was comfortable for the children. TV - Cable was difficult to use and the wifi was slow and wouldn't reach to the master bedroom. Kitchen - So many utensils were missing to cook a meal. The toaster was only toasting one side of the bread. The refrigerator kept making a loud humming noise and we just left it alone. The pots and pans in the unit were not adequate to cook a good meal. There was no dishwashing liquid, most units come with a small size at a minimum, but there was none whatsoever. The bathrooms were ok but the washing machine and dryer unit were so loud when in use. We minimized when we washed and also what time to avoid hearing the machines. The master bedroom was so uncomfortable and we did not get a good nights rest the entire stay. It is old and very hard, We contemplated buying a mattress topper from Wal-Mart but opted not to as we would not be able to utilize it at home. We did not have any issues with the beach umbrella service, The people running it were courteous and advised us to leave some beach towels on the chairs to claim them so to speak. We did have to go down there about 7:30 AM just to claim our spot but overall there were no issues with beach access and that part of our trip was quite enjoyable. One other issue worth mentioning is the wild kids running up and down the condo walkway. I had to ask the children several times to stop running as it was already late into the evening. We befriended a condo owner also on the second floor and she said that they used to have a security guard but no longer do and that there is now an issue with kids running up and down, She too confronted the kids and asked them to go back to their units. With the kids running up and down and the uncomfortable bed, we did not enjoy this stay and will look for other units to rent in the future. I apologize for my honesty here but I hope this feedback helps the owners make some necessary updates.

Perfect spot!

Will definitely be staying here again! Super cute and clean house! Beautiful view of the beach! Bed was a little too firm for us but that’s just preference! We didn’t know chairs and umbrella were included because it didn’t say anything about it on the booking so that was a nice surprise! They were setup for us from 7am-5pm!

Relaxing stay

Condo is in a good location for relaxing on a beach that's not overcrowded. Condo needs a good top to bottom cleaning. Cobwebs and dust in several places (vents, lights above kitchen bar etc. ) Overall we had a nice stay. Thank you!

Not Quite What I Hoped For

We enjoyed our stay at Crystal Sands, but unit 204B was not quite what we hoped for. While the overall building appeared fairly well-maintained, I was somewhat disappointed by this particular unit. There are several things that need to be repaired and/or updated. The sink in the bathroom adjacent to the bedroom was missing the drain cover. The light in the shower area only came on after wiggling the switch, which could be a fire hazard. The garbage disposal in the kitchen didn’t work and the drain appeared to be somewhat clogged, as the water drained very slowly. The patio furniture was rusty and worn-looking. While the sofa allowed for extra sleeping space, it was so uncomfortable that our family members slept on the bunk bed and the sofa itself instead of the sofa bed. (Linens were missing for the sofa bed the first night we arrived , but that was corrected by Crystal Sands employees the next day.) An overhead light, maybe including a ceiling fan, would be nice in the bedroom. A fresh coat of paint throughout would also make quite a change in the overall appearance of the unit.

Perfect Getaway!

We decided a week prior we needed a getaway and came across 204B. So glad we did! It was perfect for what we needed. Very clean, beautiful morning views is the beach from the balcony, and no noise from surrounding units. If you are bringing children, please know the bunk beds are pretty much right outside the bedroom so privacy there might be tough. Otherwise, perfect stay!

Very unsatisfactory

Condo was not clean; did not seem to have been sanitized; walls were scraped; nails in bathroom walls where decor apparently once hung; toaster and master bath lavatory drain did not work; sofa was dirty and very uncomfortable, having sagging areas; wall decor dusty; pillow under bed, indicating the floor under the bed was not cleaned; dirt or brownish substance on shutter going onto balcony; dried food on a balcony chair; large cockroach on balcony. Overall, it was unclean and unsatisfactory.

Cozy and convenient

Comfortable little condo with everything supplied for a convenient lazy getaway. Fridge, stove, oven, microwave, and my personal favorite a washer and dryer. Beautiful view from the balcony and the beach is so close you can effortlessly go back and forth for bathroom breaks, snacks , naps, etc... The bedroom and bunk beds are comfortable and perfect for my small family. I would not recommend depending on the hidabed though. Overall I was super pleased and highly recommend :)
