Deltaville, Virginia is a laid-back coastal town in Middlesex County ("the Middle Peninsula)" situated where the Rappahannock and York Rivers lead out to the Chesapeake Bay. Known as the “Boating Capital of the Chesapeake,” it’s a paradise for water lovers—perfect for sailing, kayaking, crabbing, and fishing. Other close by Middle Peninsula towns to explore include Gloucester (great arts community and home to the Daffodil Festival), Urbanna (home to the wildly popular Urbanna Oyster Fest in early November), Mathews, and Gwynn Island. Deltaville is also an easy drive to the Northern Neck, another peninsula bounded by the Potomac and Rappahannock Rivers, with popular towns like Irvington (home to the iconic Tides Inn Resort-try their two restaurants, open to the public public), White Stone, and Kilmarnock, a great shopping town.
