I recently stayed at new Hindustan Backpackers Heaven and had a wonderful experience. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, and the bathrooms were spotless. Hindustan Backpackers Heaven is an excellent hostel. I stayed in the dormitory, and it was very clean and well maintained. The bed was comfortable, the air conditioning worked perfectly, and the hostel even provided towels in the bathroom, which was a nice touch. I also met many travelers from different European countries, making the atmosphere friendly and enjoyable. The staff were helpful, and I had a great experience overall. I would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone visiting Delhi and would happily stay here again.

We stayed 3 nights at the New Hindustan by Backpackers Heaven the price is right and the service is really nice. The best thing was to met Jahn who helped us plan our trip through India. He made really good suggestions and showed us what is possible. Without him we wouldn‘t experience India completly. Just for him, his positivity and his effort to give us the full experience of India I would stay there again. No regrets to choose this place at all

It was so lovely to stay again in New Hindustan by Backpackers Heaven. My last stay was in 2019 and was so good that I made sure I was booked in for my latest stay in Delhi. The staff were so helpful and friendly and were happy to arrange reasonably priced transportation to and from the airport. They also helped us with sight seeing transport. I felt very safe staying here and it was very easy to find tuk tuks to go into the centre of town. The rooftop is lovely for breakfast. The area has mixed safety reviews and not good to wander round looking lost especially at night. But that is the case anywhere in Delhi. The hostel itself is very safe. The rooms at the front 101 and 201 are very good and worth putting up with a little street noise. I would not hesitate to stay here again or recommend it to friends. All in all a very reasonable price for those looking for a more budget friendly option in Delhi.

Best Budget Hostel

Really helpful staff. Was a bit difficult to find, however the staff are really willing and they will come and find you if you get lost. Great value for money. Really clean and hot showers.

Unfortunately, “terrible” was the lowest rating available. The first problem was simply finding the hotel. I tried taking an e-rickshaw, but the driver had no idea where it was beyond the general market area. He repeatedly stopped to ask for directions, and everyone pointed us somewhere different. The hotel is located down an isolated side street within a maze of run-down roads and buildings, making it extremely difficult to locate for a first-time visitor. When I finally arrived, I was about 3–4 hours early for check-in and offered to come back later if no room was ready. The front desk staff told me a room was available, but only if I paid an additional fee for early check-in. Several Indians later told me that while early check-in fees can be normal, that amount was excessive. After I contacted the hotel chain by email, the fee was refunded. The next day, I asked the front desk for very simple street directions and was met with hostility because I did not want to explain my full plans or destination. The interaction escalated into an argument, with staff responding in an aggressive and confrontational manner. By that point, I could not wait to leave. One of the most uncomfortable stays in my travels and I have been to 13 different countries. There are many other hotels in the area, and I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. For first-time visitors to New Delhi, I would also suggest researching neighborhoods carefully before booking in Karol Bagh.

Décevant voir totalement naze

Très déçu car rien n’est conforme aux photos. La chambre était rudimentaire, froide et humide avec une fenêtre minuscule donnant sur une cour insalubre. Les draps et les serviettes étaient très humides et pas super clean. Le quartier est déplorable. Franchement j’ignore s’où sortent les nombreux avis positifs qui m’avaient convaincu de choisir cet établissement.

Grim even for a Delhi hostel

Everything was disappointing about this stay, good job it was so cheap. Staff were unhelpful and felt like they were trying to scam me from the second I got there (after a ten hour journey to get to India it’s the last thing you need) and they were generally very unhelpful. The whole place is falling apart with disgusting toilets and cockroaches crawling round. You don’t even get a key for your dorm room and the doors don’t even shut - leaving you to wonder who is in your room at night. Avoid this place, not sure there will be better value in Paharganj but you want somewhere you feel a little more at ease.

Horrible experience with tour desk

This review is for the awful experience I had with the tour desk. The property itself is about what you'd expect. Old, a little rundown, we had some bugs in our bed but we got in late so we just wanted to sleep. The hotel owner was nice and got us into our room quickly. Now about the tour desk: We wanted to head to Agra to see the Taj Mahal, and needed help booking a train ticket. We talked to the first guy, and he told us we had to book a train ticket more 3 three hours in advance. He also suggested completely changing our itinerary, which wasn't a bad idea, but one we needed to think about. We said we'd get a coffee, and he replied, "I know you arent going to get coffee, but remember I'm not trying to rip you off with these train ticket prices or anything." Okay, pretty rude, but whatever. We went for a walk and decided to come back and book tickets with him, but he was gone. I spoke with another guy and told him we wanted to book tickets for 3 hours from now. He said no, it's not possible, you need to book 4 hours in advance. Great, now i'm being lied to. I told him I checked the website and there were plenty. He said it was wrong and we should book a car. He quoted us $250 for our trip. I asked him where the train station was and he wouldn't tell me. We walked to the station, booked tickets 2 hours in advance for $1 each, packed our stuff and left. Property is OK for 1 night, but the tour desk is horrible. They will try to rip your off. Avoid at all costs!

Postive : Staff, good area, metro and train station near by and a great cafe called cafe CoffeeCo. 2 min walk. good coffee, food and wifi. The Kitchen was run down and dirty, Do not order the breakfast package not worth it and I wouldn't want food coming from that kitchen. Bathroom is dirty and not cleaned often, I was there for 4 days and did not see it cleaned once. Even when I came back everything remained the same so I know it was not done while I was away. They have a huge dog! super cute, but if you're afraid or don't like dogs I believe it was told to me that they will send the dog to another property during your stay.

Whenever I return to Delhi I always decide to stay here. The friendly atmosphere and lounge area is ideal for meeting other travelers. The dorm rooms are cleaned often unlike most other hostels. The staff have great hospitality and will always go out of there way to help with anything. I would highly recommend taking part in the food tour which is ran by young Raghu most days of the week. The tour allows you to enjoy the the best of Old Delhi street food as well as a rooftop history lesson while gazing over the city. Raj and Raghu are also more than happy to help you plan your travels around India if you are still unsure and train tickets can also be arranged easily on the dedicated travel desk

Superb We had such a good experience of staying at backpackers heaven. The atmosphere was brilliant and we got to meet so many other travellers. The staff were also amazing. As this was the first hostel we were staying at they sorted our Indian SIM cards and a few of our connecting trains.

Staff at this hostel are what makes your stay as well as the vibe. Great place to meet travellers in New Delhi. Room was clean with a large bathroom. Lockers available to store valuables (remember your padlock). The Delhi Belly tour the hostel runs is superb. Great experience going around Old Delhi and using the metro. They offer a pick up service from the airport for 700 rupees, Which you can pay at hostel when you arrive. I have enjoyed my stay in Backpacker Heaven and I will come back again.

I have stayed in many hostels in Delhi and this was my favorite. Backpacker’s heaven Kuldeep Friends absolutely fell in love with this hostel and would recommend it to all fellow backpackers. The staff is so friendly and helpful, the dorms are very comfortable, clean and the breakfast is a great. I met some amazing travelers as well! Rooftop is amazing to chillout.would definitely come back to this place again!!!! Thank you for making me stay so wonderful.

Average hostel, overall a good experience.

We stayed at the New Hindustan hostel for one night and chose a double room. It was a bit chilly as it was cold outside at night and no heating or A/C. Luckily there were enough sheets to keep warm. Our private room was also a converted dorm, so we could not really lock the door (it had a default PIN code entry code). The lockers were still in the room so we used a padlock to secure our valuables. The staff was friendly and the other guests were nice as well. Overall, it was a pleasant stay right in the middle of Delhi.
