Relax in this renovated 3-bedroom, 2-bath home set on a 1.4-acre elevated waterfront lot in Deer Isle. The master bedroom features an ensuite bath and direct access to the spacious waterfront deck. A fully equipped kitchen opens to a front deck with a gas grill, perfect for outdoor dining. The expansive rear deck runs the 50-foot length of the home, offering panoramic views of 232 feet of scenic tidal oceanfront. The living room also opens to the deck, inviting the outdoors in. Stay connected with high-speed Starlink internet and secure with an automatic whole-house generator for uninterrupted power. Located on a quiet private road, this is coastal Maine at its best.

This is our third summer vacation at the house and (as always) it was marvelous! Supper clean, comfortable and everything you need in Kitchen to cook at home or on the grille outdoors. We used the house as a base for our day trips and other days we just stayed at the house and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings. The owners are great to communicate with and there are lots of recommendations in binder/pamphlets at the house for places to visit, eat and shop. Plus there is a very nice 75” TV for the evenings. Just a great place to stay.

Serene and well-appointed, this home was a great way for our family to enjoy a truly magical week away. The deck overlooking the quiet cove is the perfect spot for a summer afternoon of reading and memorable family dinners. Our stay at Greg and Mary’s cottage was delightful. A typical day started with morning coffee overlooking the water from the deck or a cove-side bench. Then we’d walk at one of the Island Heritage Trust preserves, kayak with Ospreys Echo (great folks!), wade at Sand Beach or Barred Island, visit the galleries in Deer Isle Village, or hang out with the sculptured folks at Nervous Nellie’s. We ate out a few times but honestly enjoyed dinner on the deck after cooking in the WELL-appointed kitchen just as much. The hosts have seen to every detail to make their guests comfortable: the beds were comfortable, the bath towels were thick and soft, and everything was squeaky clean on arrival. And did I mention the WELL-appointed kitchen?? The hosts’ welcome gifts from 44 Coffee and Nervous Nellie’s were thoughtful and so tasty. And speaking of tasty, I’m still dreaming of the fried haddock sandwich at There’s a Treat! Wouldn’t have stopped there had it not been included in the house guide.

A Wonderful Vacation

My husband and I spent two glorious weeks at this property in July 2025. The house is beautifully situated on a bluff overlooking a tidal cove with gorgeous views. The setting is secluded and quiet. The property is impeccably clean, well stocked, and set up to accommodate every visitor need. The owners are extremely helpful and responsive, and the welcome gifts were especially thoughtful. We had a very restful and satisfying vacation.

Fantastic views of the cove in a clean, comfortable house…

We stayed for a week at this great property! The deck is fantastic for watching wildlife, the changing tides, and dining. The kitchen has everything one would need and had a few thoughtful surprises. You can walk to a nearby preserve (The Carrying Place) which has some lovely hiking trails. It is such a quiet setting and all you can hear are Ospreys, hawks, and the splash of fish rising. Really a lovely setting!

Great House on Deer Isle!

This was our second summer stay at the house and it is a fabulous place to stay for a visit to Deer Isle and the surrounding areas. We were once again thrilled with our week here and the super comfortable one floor living with easy access to the exterior. The house is very clean, well-stocked and provisioned with everything you need including some wonderful edible gifts provided by the owner. Also, I should mention, though we don’t watch a lot of TV having the large screen HD TV with great Wi-Fi was an added bonus for watching some of the Olympics! Plus the hosts are always communicative and very friendly! We hope to be back soon!

A private, clean, and spacious house with a view of the water

Tucked away in a beautiful cove and yet conveniently located close to everything, this house was perfect for our needs! The kitchen was well stocked, and the bedrooms clean, spacious, and comfortable. We loved the wide deck, easily accessible from the kitchen, and the wooded pathway down to the beach. The house felt very private and there was even a night of stargazing from the deck! Check-in was seamless and the owners communicated well. Highly recommend this house for a trip to Deer Isle!

Clean, well-appointed home

First of all, the home was very clean. The deck facing the water is huge and very nice. It has a large table with chairs and other lounge chairs, which make it a nice spot to hang out on. The kitchen has everything a cook would need. There are also ample beach towels. The house was nice and bright, and it felt great to open the windows and feel the cool breeze. I would definitely recommend this property.

The property is very clean and well maintained. The location is private but still convenient to Stonington and other attractions. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils, cookware and appliances all up to date. The furnishings are comfortable. We very much enjoyed our stay.

Great place!

This is truly a great place to stay on Deer Isle! The hosts couldn’t be more helpful and the kitchen is fully stocked! The only thing we would suggest (and this is not a deal breaker) is that there is the potential for such a good view from the deck if only a few trees were trimmed/removed! The view is perfect from the benches at the shore, but if you are older, it is quite steep to get down there and it would be nice to enjoy the view while eating. Overall, it is a definite recommend!!

A magical place

This was our 3rd visit to Deer Isle, and our first staying at Southeast Harbor. The home is everything we could ask for, and more. Very well-stocked for our family feasts, and quite comfy for indoor times. After our hiking expeditions, we spent as much time on the deck as possible --it's like having a private treehouse! Very quiet, with only the sounds of owls, wind in the trees, and some critters --deer, maybe?--stomping at the water's edge. I've already recommended this home to a friend for next year!!

Great family vacation house!

This clean and quiet vacation house in the woods was perfect for our family vacation! We were treated to a few treats from Maine when we arrived, and found all the kitchen essentials we needed to help with cooking a few special meals. The Lobster boil set up was great! Throughout the booking and all the way through our visit we had quick helpful responses to any questions, and a notebook on the area attractions and restaurants was also very helpful.

Fabulous Home on Deer Isle!

Just a fabulous and exceptional place to stay for a visit to Deer Isle and the surrounding areas. We have rented many houses over the years but this house was certainly one of the most comfortable, clean, well-stocked and provisioned houses we have stayed in. Having all the rooms on one floor with direct access to the deck and grille made it a fabulous place to hang out. We even cooked at “home” much more than we would generally because of the well supplied and easy to use kitchen. As a photographer I was even able to get a great long exposure night time shot of the milky way from the deck. Plus the hosts are communicative and very friendly!

Wonderful accommodations!

This has been the best vrbo we’ve stayed in. The house is so comfortable and is totally outfitted with everything you need—and more! Nice to have all the bedrooms on a ground floor, for seniors or parents with small children. The deck has such pretty views. The host is friendly and communicative. Stay here when you’re in Deer Isle!

Coastal Comfort

The island folk were so welcoming including our hosts! We were greeted with food items from Maine & a personalized welcome sign in our home away from home. Our hosts were very responsive checking in on us to ensure our stay was great. The home has everything you need to make meals, relax, play games, and get a great nights’ sleep. Our kids enjoyed being able to go down to the water to explore. We would 100% love to come back to this home for another extended stay. We loved exploring the island, visiting with locals, eating fresh seafood & staying on Deer Isle.

Paradise

Amazing location, right on the ocean. Beautiful views and a well stocked kitchen was a huge plus. This was our first trip ever to Deer Isle and we look forward to coming back. Deer Isle - The Way Life Should Be

I can’t say enough good things about this rental experience. This property is the cleanest and best equipped vacation home I’ve ever rented. The kitchen is well stocked to cook any meal, no need to buy anything except for food. All the cookware and dishes were clean and ready to use, and we used the quality outdoor grill numerous times. The outdoor part of the rental was serene and peaceful. No traffic going by, no noisy neighbors, I literally napped outside on the deck several times during the week with only the sound of the ocean and wind rustling trees in the woods. We hiked at some of the local preserves in the area. Greg and Mary have provided all the information you need to explore the local area. We would absolutely rent this property again if we ever return to the area.
