What a fantastic stay we had at Poppy Lodge!
From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel so welcome. The lodge was spotlessly clean, beautifully presented, and it was clear that so much thought and care had gone into every little detail. The décor is charming, cosy and perfectly suits the character of the lodge, making it feel like a real home from home.
The views are absolutely breathtaking, and the location couldn’t be better. It’s perfectly situated for exploring the local area, with so many great attractions nearby.
There is so much to see and do nearby. Our top recommendation would definitely be Dover Castle, which we visited with our four children, aged 9 to 14. Every one of them loved it, and it made for a brilliant family day out. We also had a fantastic day at Howletts Wildlife Park, which is well worth a visit.
One thing that made this holiday even more special for us was that the park is dog-free. As someone with a severe phobia of dogs, finding somewhere we can truly relax is incredibly difficult. Being able to enjoy such a beautiful park without that worry meant we could completely switch off and make the most of our holiday.
The hosts were wonderful throughout—friendly, approachable and always happy to help. No question was too much trouble, and they really made us feel looked after.
We made some wonderful family memories at Poppy Lodge and wouldn’t hesitate to return. We would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful, relaxing getaway.
