  • Riley Cottage is a delightful two bedroom cottage on Middle Street in the heart of the Deal conservation area, and is just minutes from the High Street and the seafront. The cottage has been renovated to a very high standard, whilst retaining many original features including exposed beams and brickwork. Arranged over three floors, this home has been lovingly designed to provide a relaxing and comfortable space. The ground floor has a wonderful, sociable open plan design with a cosy sitting room with brick hearth and wood burner, dining table seating four guests, and a fully equipped kitchen. A stable door leads from the kitchen to the enclosed courtyard with garden furniture, the perfect place for morning coffee or an early evening aperitif. On the first floor is the principal bedroom and the large bathroom, and on the second floor is the twin bedroom. Riley Cottage would be ideally suited for a couple or a family with young children. Middle Street is the perfect location for a seaside holiday stay in Deal, Kent. Being just a few minutes away from Deal High street, where you are spoilt for choice with friendly restaurants, coffee shops, cafes and independent shops. The beautiful pebbled seafront of Deal is also minutes away, for you to be able to enjoy the fresh sea air for the whole of your holiday. Deal train station is just a short walk/drive away, where you can catch the fast train to London St Pancras in just over an hour.

    Please note check out is 10am. Please ensure you vacate on time to allow our housekeepers to enter the property and prepare it for the next guests.
    Smoking is not permitted in the property at any time.
    Please note for insurance purposes the number of guests must not exceed the total occupancy of the house.
    For fire safety reasons please do not use any candles in the property.
    Please be respectful to neighbours. Quiet hours are between 11pm and 9am.
    Parties and loud music are not permitted.

A lovely bank holiday

The cottage was lovely, perfect for two people and our dog. You could have four staying here comfortably too! The bathroom is lovely and big too. The small garden is a nice addition with the lights on in the evening. Very close to the beach, perfect location for us. A very short walk into the town with a lovely wine bar, restaurant and shops and close to the station. Everything was in walking distance so no need for a car. Would highly recommend staying here!

Perfect bank holiday weekend

Riley cottage is the perfect spot for a small family to explore Deal and the surrounding area from. Super location on Middle Street - lovely to walk along and see all the history and a stones throw from both the beach and the excellent shops and restaurants on the High Street. We loved starting our day having breakfast in the little courtyard at the back!

Great Cottage in a perfect location

We enjoyed staying at Riley Cottage . Great location in the conservation area, peaceful and convenient for the beach. There is pub opposite, but don't be put off, it did not create any noise at all. We choose this cottage as it was dog friendly with a courtyard garden , and had easily accessible stairs . The cottage is stylish and thoughtfully curated, lovely fresh white bed linen and towels etc- everything guests should require, the kitchen was well equipped. The welcome pack of local produce was a very nice extra . Thank you . My only ask, in an otherwise perfect cottage would be for a shelf in the bathroom for when applying make up, but the wardrobe shelves and mirror did suffice .

Delightful Deal

Property in a great location for everything you need for your holiday...lounge furnishings a little tired and not the most comfortable and some of the kitchen equipment could have been better thought out...however we enjoyed our stay and the agency very helpful throughout

Lovely cottage in the heart of Deal

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3-night stay at Riley Cottage in Middle Street in Deal. The house is immaculately finished yet retains the character of the property and the conservation area. Unlike some properties in the area, the stairs were wide and not steep, with some turns but easy to navigate. The courtyard was small but very cute and sunny. We did think the cottage could do with a little bit of artwork to add some personality but that’s just our personal preference and the minimal decor did really let the quality of the cottage shine. We would love to stay at Riley Cottage again!

Really cosy cottage

The cottage was really close to the sea front and very cosy. It was quiet and the beds were really comfortable. The only issues were the lack of microwave in the kitchen and kitchen being poorly designed eg cutlery in a draw under the oven. Shower was also tricky to use to find the right temperature. Overall a really lovely stay and a great central location.
