Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains along the Chestatee River, H&J Riverhouse is your ultimate rejuvenation destination. Just twelve minutes from historic Downtown Dahlonega and within easy access to the area's many wineries, hiking trails, and waterfalls, H&J is the perfect base camp for couples retreats, celebrating major family milestones, or reconnecting with the great outdoors.

H&J offers four, full-sized bedrooms on three levels and three and one-half baths, comfortably accommodating up to eight adults. The well-equipped kitchen and over-sized farm table invites lazy dinners at home and the screened in back porch is the perfect spot for an afternoon nap or morning coffee.

The backyard offers stunning rushing river views, 575 feet of waterfront trails, lounge seating, a fire pit for cookouts and keeping warm, and horseshoe pits for the competitive spirit. Just a short hike across the footbridge, The Overlook provides quiet reading and napping options under a huge natural rock.

This property was very comfortable for my mom, sister, daughter and myself. It was just a quick getaway to the mountains for a little shopping, dining and potter painting. But, we wanted somewhere "close to nature" and this was amazing. The river rushing outside the back porch is beautiful and impressive. Our hosts were very communicative and the whole exchange was easy.

Had a great family Christmas in the mountains. Property is a little slice of heaven, so quiet and peaceful. Plenty of room for the 7 adults in our family. House is super cute, clean and cozy. Would definitely rent again.

House was nice, and the river in the back was very nice and peaceful. House in relation to Dahlonega was great, but road to and from the the immediate area of the house was a bit treacherous.

This beautiful lakefront property was the ideal space for our 3 generation family of 8 to get away for a few days! Sleeping space on all 3 levels gave everyone their own space, and the spacious common living areas made for some great times! We found everything we needed from the well appointed kitchen to the beautiful outdoor space and firepit area. Would definitely stay here again!

Amazing getaway for relaxation and quality time. The river was great to listen to while sitting by the firepit and safe to swim in for adults. Janet and David were so considerate of all of our needs and very responsive and thoughtful. One of the best VRBO’s I’ve been in, wish I could have been there longer.

The perfect location for our family to attend a wedding in Dahlonega. The home was clean and well equipped for anything we needed for a comfortable stay. Girlfriends getaway weekend! The little house in the woods was perfect for four ladies looking to getaway. The house sits on the river so you get to hear the rush of the water from the covered porch. The house was well stocked for the weekend. The road in is a little narrow and steep but would stay here again.

Owners are excellent, great communicators throughout the rental! River location is unparalleled, house is very clean and well stocked with all you need. One challenge some much older folks may not want is the very narrow road the 1/4 or so mile before house with no pull offs if you encountered another car. Overall a rental none will come away with unhappy!

This is a very clean and cozy home with amazing views and lakefront property. Janet and David take extra care to make your stay comfortable by providing the basics necessities to start with. The kitchen has everything you need to cook big family meals. The bedrooms are very comfortable and cozy. The property is amazing! Our kids and grandkids loved it! This home is conveniently close to one of the cutest north Georgia mountain towns - Dahlonega. Also located near many waterfall hikes, kayaking, tubing and wineries! We highly recommend staying here.

Traveled with my husband and both sets of parents for Christmas. House was as described and very well stocked. The views were wonderful d it was nice to wake up to the sound of running water. Fire pit was great for a chilly winter night. We’d like to return when it’s warmer so we can enjoy the river! Janet was very communicative prior to and during our stay. And it was a nice touch that the house was tastefully decorated for the holiday.

Gorgeous property with plenty to do. Great outdoor setting with stream that can be seen and heard from enclosed patio. The house is beautifully decorated and nice bedroom space for all. There were 7 adults in our group. Additional seating in living room would have made it more comfortable. And, the road to the property is narrow with curves. Overall, I recommend this property because of its size, outdoor space and wonderful owners!
