Reserve your week at this stunning, recently-built waterfront cabin in Cushing, Maine. You'll vacation away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to all the amenities that Mid-coast Maine has to offer. We offer 7-night rentals from Saturday to Saturday. If this property is already booked for the dates you want, check out our sister-property - VRBO Listing #2032938. The Cabin on Back Cove is located 15 minutes away in Waldoboro, Maine. If you're in the mood for a quiet day, read on the deck at the cottage, rent a kayak in nearby Friendship, venture down to either the Friendship or Cushing Harbors to buy lobsters right off the boat, visit the Olson House immortalized in the Wyeth painting 'Christina's World' or take a scenic nature walk or bike ride around Pleasant or Davis Points. If you feel like traveling further afield, peruse the Farnsworth Art Museum and waterfront in Rockland, visit Marshall Point Lighthouse (of Forrest Gump fame for the pop culture set) in Port Clyde on the St. George Peninsula, take home beautiful handmade wooden items from the State Prison Shop in Thomaston, visit the Transportation Museum in Owl's Head, enjoy the restaurants and shops in picturesque Camden, wait in line and contribute to the traffic near Red's Eats in Wiscasset or check out the sea life at the Maine State Aquarium in Boothbay. L.L. Bean and the outlet stores in Freeport, Monhegan Island, Portland, Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park are great day-trip destinations.
To access the cabin, you must climb a full flight of eleven stairs. Once inside, everything is on one floor.
There is no dock or mooring available with this rental.
If you choose the Book Now option, please include the full names and ages of the members of your group so we can make up the Rental Agreement immediately.

Property was clean and well stocked. Host was easy to reach and communicate with. Beds were super uncomfortable to the point of leaving a day early because our backs were so sore! also, the tv room only has a futon which is also very uncomfortable. It's located on a dirt road with a very steep incline so unusable for me to walk on without sliding down.

Amazing location. The cabin is EXACTLY as described. It was WELL STOCKED with commodities that we needed to be comfortable. Plenty of towels and linens etc. The kitchen had just about every gadget and item we needed to have great meals. We cannot say enough about how PEACEFUL this location was for us. The sounds of nature abound, both of land and sea. We spent as many nights as possible out at the fire pit, watching the sun set and enjoying the star filled sky. The stars are unbelievable. Since there's no big city light pollution, the night time sky was filled with millions of stars. We were lucky enough to have no visible moon, so the darkness presented an amazing cacophony of stellar points. We just happened to witness a meteor shower that was peaking during the week of our stay. We saw plenty of working fisherman boats floating by, everyone would wave to us as they went by. The wildlife we spotted included numerous bird species, wild turkeys, and seals in the water just to name a few. We also heard moose "bugling" from one side of the river to the other. This was the most relaxing get away that we've had in quite awhile. Despite being off the beaten path, the cabin had all of the modern conveniences that one would expect. We have been on cloud 9 since our trip and we're looking forward to coming back again someday. If you're looking for a wonderful, peaceful respite from the hustle and bustle of the city, give this one a shot. You wont be disappointed!

The sunsets by the fire pit were worth every penny of the rental price. This was our first week long, just us, vacation in 20 years. We were welcomed with a gift of Maine Maple Syrup and Blueberry Jam. The view from the shore and from the wall of windows in the house was spectacular. Mornings were spent with a hot cup of coffee and a blanket, enjoying the serene setting. Evenings were spent with cocktails, S'mores, and a fire. The mattress was like sleeping on a cloud. Truly, The way Life Should Be.

Beautiful and Peaceful

It was just what we needed, serenity. The location is beautiful. It was a quiet area. The deck overlooked the water. Sunsets from the deck were amazing. The cool breeze was so enjoyable. We were able to see some fireworks from the deck on the 4th of July. The inside is also very nice and clean. Rebecca was wonderful and quickly answered any questions. It was a wonderful place to be if you are looking for a quiet place to reconnect with your spouse or in need of a place away from the hustle and bustle of a busy life.

Absolute Perfection!

I cannot say enough pleasant things about this property. From start to finish it was absolutely perfect. I really wish I booked for two weeks instead of just one. The cottage itself is beautiful. Perfect for a couple or small family. Tastefully decorated and fully stocked with all the basics. Lots of extra sheets, and pillows, tons of towels, fully stocked kitchen and bathroom! The view from the Great room is a thing of beauty! The neighbors were pleasant and welcoming. The area itself was centrally located and perfect for our daily activities. My husband and I have been using VRBO (first HomeAway) to come to Maine for the last 10 yrs or so. We have always had a positive experience but I have to say, this was our absolute favorite location. Rebecca was quick to answer any communications and check in/out was a breeze. I have this beautiful property saved in my favorites list and would love to return next year. Thank you so much for such a wonderful retreat. If I could give 10 stars it still wouldn’t be enough! Perfection!!

A wonderful escape on the shore!

My wife and I stayed here for a week and were absolutely thrilled. The home is well maintained and well appointed with a gorgeous deck we could have spent days just hanging out on. Owners supplied a very helpful guide to the surrounding region. The house is just a bit off the beaten track, but nothing too difficult and it gave us a good excuse to make it back in time for the gorgeous sunsets on the shore.

Well-equipped house in a beautiful location

House is well-equipped and comfortable. Location is beautiful. We enjoyed our stay very much. It would be nice if there were access to the little beach in front at low tide without climbing over the slippery rocks. We had an issue with the oven, but it was resolved quickly. The refrigerator was inconsistent but we were asked not to make adjustments. Some items in the main refrigerator were frozen; items in the freezer were not.

Peaceful place in a great location

We loved our week-long stay in this well-appointed cabin! We woke up to the seagulls every day, took some nice walks in the woods at nearby nature preserves, went to 2 of Maine’s prettiest lighthouses, and enjoyed lots of lobster. The only drawback is that most restaurants are a good drive away and need a bit of planning in the evening. The cabin is comfortable and the two living areas are nice for a variety of indoor activities. There is also good engagement from the owners who supplied a nice guide to the area. Would definitely book again!

Yet another gem!

Cottage spacious and homey, especially loved the separate tv room filled w/dvds, puzzles, books etc. Once the sun shined wrap around deck was nice. Like the Waldoboro site I would highly recommend this cottage.

Relaxing

I was unsure if I wanted to stay in Portland or away closer to Northern Maine and Canada. I am glad we stayed here because we were close enough to some bigger towns so we could enjoy a little city life and we were just far enough away where we got away from the tourist traps.

We really enjoyed our stay! The home was spotless, had lots of windows and great views, comfortable master bed, well-stocked kitchen and bathroom. Owner left detailed instructions and a very helpful guide to the area. We enjoyed exploring many of the coastal towns during our stay. 100% Comfortable and Relaxing

This shorefront cottage is probably the nicest experience I've had with VRBO or Airbnb. 100% satisfied. Many nice things to make it home to us. Very well designed, organized, clean, complete, with nice touches everywhere. I found myself constantly peering through the trees to look at sail and lobster boats, and I took many photos of the tides, sunsets, birds and boat traffic. Very clean house

Good communication with owner. House has all amenities with a beautiful waterfrint deck. Will definitely come next year. If there is a dock, it will be much easier to launch kayaks.
