Immerse yourself in nature at Mountain Modern in Crested Butte! Eight minutes to the ski lifts or seven minutes to town, Mountain Modern is located on the fence line of the Allen Ranch with unobstructed views of Mount Crested Butte. Experience true solitude as you soak in the beauty of this majestic location. Whether it's skiing by day, hiking the summer Snodgrass trail, fishing at Meredian Lake or leaf peeping during fall, this is a truly special place to relax, recharge and unwind.

Mountain Modern is situated above the main garage and has a separate entrance with keypad entry and dedicated parking for our guests. The extra large bedroom has a slanted ceiling and is set up with two queen beds, complete with organic bedding. The oversized luxury bathroom has a walk-in glass enclosed shower outfitted with shampoo, condition and bodywash. There is a kitchenette with sink, mini fridge, microwave, toaster oven, toaster, kettle and electric griddle provided for light cooking and reheating of food. And a stackable washer and dryer in the unit that includes laundry detergent and dryer sheets for your personal use. The kitchenette also has a french press and Mr. Coffee coffeemaker (coffee and sugar + honey provided). It has all the modern conveniences from home one could ever need.

Meredian Lake Estates is perfectly located just 7 minutes from Elk Avenue in the historic part of Crested Butte where great restaurants, brewery's and shopping abound. The ski resort is a short 8 minute drive. Our guests have access to the private Meredian Lake for fishing and water sports. Mountain Modern is below the Snodgrass Trail, so stellar trail hiking are just steps away. In summer, guests just need to hike up the backyard to meet the trail. It's the mountain alternative to living next to Disneyland! Alternatively, you can hike to the locals favorite hidden gem, Long Lake. Other popular hiking and mountain biking trails are available right outside the front door. The location is serene mountain living but with all the modern amenities just minutes away.

Meredian Lake is just a short walk and is a private lake for owners and guests of the Meredian Lake subdivision. You can fish or kayak to your hearts desire. Another fifteen minute walk up from the lake and you will find Long Lake. This is a large public lake popular with locals and kids to fish, SUP or swim.

Meredian Lake is a quiet neighborhood with many full time residents. Mountain Modern has stellar 360 degree views covering Whetstone, Red Lady, Mt Crested Butte and Long Lake ridge. And in summertime, it's immersed in wildflowers like lupines, sunflowers and animals such as deer and fawn.

Staying at Mountain Modern does require that you have your own transportation. But if you need to charge your electric vehicle, we have a dedicated EV Charger (level 2) for your use. Winter months require a 4-wheel drive vehicle as the driveway is very steep. The roads are paved all the way through Meredian Estates and are plowed by the city and county. However, a snowstorm can quickly drop a lot of snow very quickly, so one needs to be prepared. There is a free shuttle bus at the four way stop in town. You can park at the four way and hop on the free shuttle bus, exiting feet from the ski lifts. This is the most convenient and direct way to get on the lifts. It's extremely convenient on the return as you can apres ski in town before heading back home.

To get the most out of your visit during summer months, we still recommend a high clearance vehicle. We are minutes from the Paradise Divide loop and the roads are unpaved. The drive up Washington Gulch is stunning and not to be missed in summer months. The wildflowers stretch for miles and are truly breathtaking. You can take the loop drive and come back down past Emerald Lake on Gothic Road or return using Slate River Road. Both are beautiful drives but do require high clearance vehicles to make the most of exploring this beautiful valley.
