  • Un precioso paseo por el Tenedor sur del río Smith que llega a esta casa junto al río de lujo situado en una zona llamada 'Big Flat', ya que es una gran área plana alto de las montañas, donde las tribus del interior se reunieron para responder a las tribus de la costa. Rica en historia natural y la belleza escénica, este es el tipo de lugar que uno quiere hacer el check in, y 'visita'. Rodeado por las vistas y los sonidos del río corriendo por, así como una multitud de aves canoras y millas de majestuoso desierto, hay una oportunidad para la natación, rafting, tubing, senderismo, ciclismo, pesca, kayak o simplemente tirado en el remojo vista al río cubierta el sol en verano o acurrucarse junto al fuego en los meses más fríos.

    La casa ofrece la posibilidad de pasar apuros en una gran comodidad ya que cuenta con todas las comodidades mientras que ser fuera de la red, hemos equipado con aparatos de potencia y propano solares. Debido a los solares de la capacidad del sistema de alimentación --- microondas, tostadoras, secadores de pelo y otros aparatos de resistencia se agotará el sistema.


    Además de ser el río en la propiedad hay varios pequeños lagos con buena pesca que se puede conducir a. También hay varios lagos que son buenas excursiones mochila en las montañas más altas. También tenemos un sendero a la Kelsey sendero cerca de la casa. El sendero de Kelsey es parte de la ruta Pacific Crest. Amazing setting for a rustic cabin. Had many luxuries while still feeling like you were in the middle of the woods camping. Make sure to hit the river. You could spend a day or two just exploring the immediate area.

Serine River Retreat

This is a very peaceful, off grid place to stay! The view and the sound of the river are amazing! Wonderful place to unplug!

Rustic and charming cabin deep in nature

We loved our time in this beautifully rustic cabin nestled in the trees above the Smith River. Kitchen, living and sleeping areas were all great, and outdoor fireplace, BBQ and a large deck overlooking the trees made for a sweet trip.

Great stay

Overall the property was great. Jim was really great to work with. Loft area definitely stayed warm. The area is beautiful and off the beaten path.

Private get away

Jim communicated with me the entire time making sure our needs were met. 2nd time guests and already booked for 4th of July 2023. Slice of heaven, from the drive to the property itself. Private and amazingly beautiful surroundings!

Remote Get Away

The house is very remote, which is exactly what we wanted. It's nestled in over a river, the sound is so relaxing. It is relatively close to some amazing hiking trails. The upstairs loft get pretty warm in the middle of the day but cools down by bedtime. A little difficult to find the first time but the owner has a great map printed out once you get there. 😅

Great place to stay

If you like to be off the grid, this is a great place to stay. We do this once a year and completely unplug from phones, computers, etc. This place was perfect for exactly that. It's remote and there's nothing better than the sound of a river. We had a total of 4 adults, 3 kids, and our 2 labs. Everyone had a wonderful time. It's a little bit of a walk to the river but once there, it's secluded and water is crystal clear. Thank you, Jim, for allowing us to stay at your place.

Great house and setting, just know driving is involved!

The drive alone is what keeps this from being a 5 star property; all else was just fine--knowing it is a rustic cabin. Beds were very comfortable to sleep on and plenty of them! The amenities in the kitchen and towels were plenty and whimsical--as all are mismatched! This is off the grid, so know you don't have air conditioning and have to be mindful of electric and water usage. Our family of 6 had no problems with water and always had enough for quick hot showers. The ceiling fan was not working during our stay, but opening windows cooled the place down quickly. They have a grill and nice table outside along w a fire pit and plenty of wood onsite. (The deck needs some repairs as some of the floor boards were weak and wiggly). The hike to the water is a steep, slick trail with a metal cable to guide you, but we managed just fine--and beautiful clear water was fun for kids (11-18 years). The drive--I knew from other reviews it was a bit of a drive, but missed the winding, winding, and more winding--and DO NOT take the Stout Grove route if you arrive after dark! (Much longer and gravel single lane at times--map needs to be modified to show accurate travel times and label "best route".) We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and family time. Played games at the kitchen table each night while enjoying the incredible view of the stars. Great property, but know other area attractions will involve a bit of a drive there and back.

Remote and peaceful.

Off the grid. Limited internet. Rugged trek to the retreat. Fantastic night skys. Great view from upstairs loft. Need to climb down to the river or go to the coast in the heat of the day. Cools off quickly in the evening. Owner was easy to communicate with regarding our stay. Loved my stay with my adult children and their wives.

Remote family reunion

We had 3 groups arrive and all met at the cabin my daughter and family from calif. My son from Oregon and myself and spouse from Texas. We had plenty of room for everyone to sleep. The road to the property is in very rough shape. That should be mentioned. The cabin fit all of our needs and was spacious. The deck needs some work along with the handrails. All in all we appreciated the rental and we're very satisfied. Thank you Jim.

If you are looking for a place to get away from it all for a time of peace, this is it! It is not fancy, but very well equipped and comfortable. A couple of hints to make it awesome from the moment you get there... Be sure to bring anything you might need. Ice, food, toiletries, etc because the house is 16 miles away, some of it gravel and uneven. I would not drive a sportscar down! During the summer the loft can get extremely warm. The path from the house to the river is very steep and slick in places but once down there it is beautiful and much cooler. The deck is lovely and the sound of the river is so calming, we really enjoyed our time there.
