  • Come explore what Southern Illinois has to offer for your next family getaway! The "GUESTHOUSE AT THE LAKE" has it all! 3 bedrooms with 4 queen beds, 1.5 baths, Beautiful Sunroom (no screens), Dock with electricity, Beautiful Lake Views, Fire Pit, Wifi, Outdoor Grill, Carport, Washer/Dryer, Flat Screen TV's/DVD player, Direct Tv including the Sports Package, Fully stocked (just bring food and toiletries), recently renovated, includes use of two Kayaks with paddles (please bring your own Life Vests). The house is on one level with only 1 step to get into the home. The land is flat to the lake with no steps down to the dock!!!!!

    We have dedicated internet for each of our guest homes!!!! 6 mbps down and 1 mbps up and also a second line that is shared between our 3 homes that is an additional 6 mbps down and 1 mbps up!!!

    We also rent the house directly next door which has 2 bedrooms, 1.5 baths, and sleeps 8 also (vrbo 1185578)!!! And we have another home just down the street with 4 bedrooms and 2 baths (vrbo 9134691ha)! Ask about renting multiple homes for a discount!!!! All of our homes are located at the mid point of the lake). See the attached photo showing the location of all our rental homes at the lake.

    Boat rentals are available around the lake. Check out https://lakeofegyptpontoonrentals.com and tell them Roman sent you!!!

    Macks Marina and Egyptian Hills Marina also have boat rentals and you can launch your boat from both of them and also Pyramid Acres for a small fee.

    We do provide two kayaks and two paddleboards for each home. Please bring your own life vests as we do not provide those.

    No pets allowed.

    We do require a $100 Damage Deposit. This will be returned to you immediately upon our cleaning team reporting no damage, no excess cleaning, and no excess trash.

Great for the price

For the price, it was a great stay. Plenty of space and a nice living room, kitchen setup.House smells a little musty, I think it’s coming from the porch. I would suggest the property management schedule a deep spring cleaning.

We did it again!

We had stayed here a month ago and had a great experience, so we chose this home again. The AC is very cold, the home was very clean and we always rent a pontoon on our visit from Wiener Rides and the easy access to the dock works great for my elderly parents. We will return in the future.

Beautiful view of the water!! Had a dock to use for the boat we rented all weekend accommodated for our cars to be parked near by due to having the boat the rest of the day we checked out. Thank you!!

Great Family Getaway

We gathered our teenagers, my mom, sister, and uncle & aunt to spend a few days together. We rented a pontoon and a jet ski. We kayaked and paddle boarded to a little island. The house was roomy and comfortable with everything we needed. The owner was very responsive and helpful. We will definitely be back!

Vacation

The location was beautiful, with excellent sunset views and a private dock. If it had been just me and the boys fishing it would have been excellent. This was a fishing and sight seeing trip with my wife. She didn't feel secure with no locks to the back doors only a bar for the patio door. The drains for the sink and shower were slow and the layout was weird with having to go through one bedroom to get to the other.

Long weekend

The house was perfect for my husband and I. Great sunsets from the porch or dock. Everything was spotless. Communication was always quick and helpful. We will definitely book again, really enjoyed the location and home. The only thing a little odd is you have to walk through one bedroom to get to the other 3rd bedroom. Not a problem for us but others might be uncomfortable with this.

Great location, great A/C, great kitchen and ample parking. The walk through bedroom smelled musty and like sewage at times, grill was very dirty and unusable, need some new fluffy towels, providing outdoor chairs would be nice. We called the phone number on the paper for internet help. The woman was very kind and helped me but told me she no longer works for the company so the information sheet needs to be updated. We would stay again

Family reunion

This was the 5th time we have stayed at this rental so we knew what to expect. Unfortunately it was far off from what we are use to. It was not clean, there were spiders and rodents, the maintenance crew had to come out because we had multiple issues. We will not be staying here again.

Nice little home for the money

For the money, the house is a good value. It is not nearly as nice as others we have rented in the area, but it was about half the price. The bedroom setup is a bit funky, but workable. I would not rent this house with if you have more than 4 people - 1 bathroom makes it difficult. If I am going to nitpick, the house should have a simple toaster a tea kettle and a full size frying pan....like I said,overall the home was a good value, but these simple additions would have made our stay better.
