Trig pillar on Fan Gyhirych This is the summit that really makes the national park seem small. To the west you can see Fan Hir (pictured) - and to the east you can see the Corn Du and Pen y Fan. Both look to be just a couple of valleys away in either direction.

Summit of Fan Fraith A couple of measly stones mark the summit of this flat topped foothill to Fan Gyhirych. Hardly worth the effort of negotiating the adjacent bog.

Dry stone wall or wet stone wall? The dilapidated wall which runs across Fan Fraith dips its feet in a pool. Pen y Fan, Fan Frynach and the north end of Fan Nedd are seen in the distance. This pool is but one of many (mostly) alongside the wall from which presumably the stones for its construction were unearthed.

Really accommodating hosts. They did everything to make sure our stay was trouble-free. The garden is very private and the hot tub was great. Comfortable home in a good location, with supermarkets in walking distance.
