"I have stayed at the Coral Reef many times over the years. It is a classic 1930’s/1940’s motel so things are a bit old. But the price, value, and location are great for a traveler who enjoys a place with character and history. The website suggests they have a “business center,” but they do not have a room with a computer and printer you can access. But the staff at front desk were very helpful and printed out my conference papers for me. I had a great stay"

"We requested a handicap accessible room. When physically checking in, they said the current occupants extended their stay and it was no longer available. The room we had was filled with the smell of secondhand smoke (non-smoking room) and there was a live cockroach."

"Front desk person at check in seemed in hurry to get rid of me, sped through check in, didn’t explain anything. When I asked questions she answered with annoyance. So I stopped asking. Place was very clean and kept up nicely. Not sure why they charge a high daily fee for parking the place has plenty of parking. That didn’t seem necessary, and makes a huge difference on choosing a place to stay. It also wasn't explained to me at check in that I’d have a daily parking fee. "

"We only booked for a night because of our visit to UC Berkeley and it was an amazing stay! The rooms were very clean and organized. Staff were nice and they welcomed us with waters. Breakfast was complimentary which was very good and delicious! We had a peaceful stay and the area was calm and peaceful as well. The parking was the $20 a night which was not bad at all.
