First of all, the host notifies you the day of that there is an additional 20 parking fee when providing check-in instructions. Vrbo states rate as "All fees included", but apparently, that's not the case with all of their properties. Upon arriving, you need a goverment grade Hum-V to drive through all the potholes surrounding the property. I immediately see a worker slowly cupping water from the roads entering, with a bucket. The entry gate for your key card isn't working, so there are 2 men trying to fix that. The 3 building layout is also quite confusing. I park, and see a hole in a fence where people are accessing the beach, as an entrance. There are hardly any cars. No families, no business people staying here, just a few strange men and it does not feel safe! The building is dilapidated and falling apart. I finally find the hidden lobby that is behind a lot of construction fencing. I get my keys and drive towards my room. Struggling with 3 bags, after a 4 hour drive, the elevator does not work. I then proceed to find the rusted stairs, hidden under a dark breezeway. The place just feels like it's falling apart and should be flagged for inspection. I did not feel safe staying here. I was in town for a concert and did not see myself walking here safely alone and checked out. The host and vrbo support refused any sort of refund, even though I did not even enter the room.
