Not quite a resort, but definitely not roughing it, our newly renovated Rusty Cactus is just what you were looking for in a vacation cabin in Concan. It’s like a 1,358 sq ft version of our Rustic Riviera Lodge without all the extra bedrooms but with all of the comforts.

*This is a great option to annex with one of our other properties if you need to get away from the crowd.*

We’ve eliminated the fight over who gets the top bunk. There isn’t one.

Roughing it in the kitchen just isn't acceptable when you've got a mega BBQ to plan and double the people to feed. So we’ll let you borrow all our kitchen gadgets. Your chili can bubble away in our crockpot, we cater to Keurig and coffee purists, and it just isn't a proper Vacation Concan house without a Margaritaville Margarita Blender. Add all the pots, pans, griddles, and utensils together and you’ll find we thought of EVERYTHING.

And you don’t have to sit like cowpokes, perched on the edge of furniture to eat. We have enough seats for 12 around the dining area. Everyone can enjoy their meals together.

The family that streams together has better vacations together. The large flat screen in the living room is ready to pick up whatever you like to watch. Our smart TV will pick up your casting on the super-fast Wi-Fi. Snuggle up on the leather couches for a movie night or curl up with a good book once everyone else has gone to bed.


Through the kitchen door is the back patio, complete with seating, a second flat screen, and a full BBQ Pit and fire pit. You can keep the BBQ going into the evening by lighting up the night with the fairy lights hung around the yard. And if you run out of something, the convenience store is just a quick two-step down the road.

No BBQ is complete without lawn games to bring out the best in you. Time to bring you A-Game with washers, cornhole, and horseshoes. And if you’re feeling salty, challenge the neighbors to a volleyball game in the side yard. If you have badminton, bring it along!

The Deer Run area of Concan is named for all of the deer who come out at dusk. So break out the marshmallows around the fire pit and try to keep it mellow if you want to see the local deer. We even provide the firewood. **Please only use the firewood provided. We want to protect the local ecology from incoming beetles and other non-native pests as much as possible.**

While the Rusty Cactus is cute and stylish, it doesn’t have a pool. But you can use the River Oaks Resort Pool, Splashpad & Mini-golf just a few minutes walk from the cabin. You are also two doors down from the Hippie Chic Shack. Their live music Friday’s and Saturday’s will have you toe-tapping and two-stepping in the backyard. It’s not far from trailheads, float rentals, and the best coffee in the valley on early Sundays. However! The Frio is calling your name.

Because you book with us, you get free access to the Frio River at 7 Bluffs/3rd Crossing. When you check in with our management team Concan VIP, they’ll give you your passes. They also have some other perks and discounts in store for you so that you can truly enjoy everything that Concan has to offer.

Absolutely NO PETS. ZERO EXCEPTIONS.

We have smoking areas, exterior to the home, that will keep fire risk low, please use those if needed.

The renter must be at least 25 years of age and sign the rental agreement prior to confirmed rental.

We do have cameras on the back patio and front door(2). They are motion-triggered and do not record sound. They are in place to protect our property from vandalism to the building, and outdoor furnishing. They protect both our guests and ourselves from any misunderstandings

This home is managed by Concan VIP Property Management, LLC. Our office is the little white building around the back.

The guest who made the reservation will be required to check in and provide a current driver's license and 2 credit cards to have on file plus sign the VIP Rental Agreement. Please keep in mind that even if booked through VRBO you still will have to provide a copy of D/L, 2 CREDIT CARDS, and sign VIP Rental Agreement. This rental agreement includes asking for contact information during your stay (email and phone number). This information will never be used for marketing purposes without your expressed permission.
