The Schwartz Castle a historic property in historic German Village. Located just south of Downtown Columbus. Easily walkable to downtown and many restaurant`s bars, attractions, including the Schiller Park, the Book Loft, St Mary`s Church, Lindy`s, Cento, Pistacia Vera, Katzinger`s, and Chapmans. Room for larger groups, and wedding party`s. A great place for a romantic getaway and family get-togethers. The Schwartz Castle, a haunting history, but equally romantic and family friendly.

Close to everything we wanted to do. Walked to most of our weekend events. German Town has so much to offer. We loved our stay. Beautiful house! My wife wants to move in permanently! Ha Ha! Host was super! Exceptionally clean.

Great location, cool place. Quite the unique stay. Had a group of 8 and we all had plenty of room for us all. Plenty of facilities for everyone in the morning. Great game room and common areas, plenty of kitchen areas. Great place to enjoy Columbus with great people. Hosts super accommodating and responsive ton any of our questions.

I couldn't believe how many 10/10 reviews came from this place. But once I experienced it for myself, I completely get it. This castle was everything and more. Every bedroom was a winner, the bathrooms were all so nice and clean, and the basement was even better than I imagined. We comfortably had a group of 12 adults stay here, but I can absolutely see this being a fantastic stay for families kids as well. Book it, you won't regret it!

What a wonderful house! Beds super comfy, towels soft, everything we needed for entertainment and stocked kitchen ( if we cooked!) can not recommend this VRBO enough, host was amazing-we will be back!

We had a blast!!!! Everyone loved the phone chargers in every room. Such a nice and thoughtful touch. We had a great time for my dad’s 90th birthday. Brent was very responsive and great to work with.

A group of life long friends gathered to throw a surprise weekend for a 60th birthday. From the second we checked in it could not have possibly gone any better and this property was absolutely perfect. The host, Brent, was extremely thorough in communicating everything we needed and every one attending could not have been happier with the stay. The attention to detail was outstanding. In particular, supplying chargers on every nightstand and end table in every room with 4 types of plug was going above and beyond. My room alone had chargers on 3 side tables. If you are planning a gathering in Columbus this location is highly highly recommended.

The place itself was very well-kept, clean and in a great location. However, I was less than impressed by the threatening tone of the host to my group before even arriving at this location. Between the host getting our group mixed up with others in the area for noise, accusing our group of having more than allotted guests (which was not true and the host could see if he had looked at his external security footage), then continuing to bash the very event that we were in the area for - I would not stay in this location again. Our group felt very disrespected, judged, and quite frankly harassed, for the type of music event we were attending. After our group, I hope the host can see that not everybody who attends these events are bad people and be a bit kinder when conversing with future guests who don’t fit his “ideal guest profile.”

The best ever!

I've probably rented over 100 houses, condos, apartments, etc over the last 30 years. The Schwartz Castle far outshines any place I have ever been. Rent this place just for the experience and create a memory. my whole family loved it.

There are not proper words to describe just how perfect this property is. I have stayed in many rentals and this is by far the best. Every detail is amazing, every thing thought through, locations unbeatable. I won't cheapen the review with more words other than PERFECT. We will be back and truly hold this place in our hearts, it is special.

Beyond Expectation

Not only is the property spectacular, but it has been incredibly well maintained. The architecture is amazing and the decor is timely and functional. The host went above and beyond to accommodate, was incredibly responsive, and very helpful with his knowledge of the area. Our stay was so lovely we wished we had booked for longer. We will most definitely be returning to this castle!

Bexley Graduation Weekend

The Castle easily housed the 13 of us (7 adults and 6 children 2-10 years old)… with one bedroom not even used. We traveled from Minneapolis to celebrate our oldest granddaughter’s high school graduation from Bexley High. The Castle was a perfect location for access to all the graduation venues and COSI. Enjoyed the comfortable beds and the variety of gathering spaces (lower level pool room, darts and game table; the parlor; the large kitchen center island, the 1st Floor TV area; the dining room). It would have been cool to have seen the 4th Floor and the deck above the tower, but we understand the potential liabilities. The secluded backyard patio with bar-b-que grill is very special in Germantown. Easy walking access to Katzinger’s Deli and the Book Loft were bonuses. Loved the special touches… bowls of chocolates, life savers and Werther’s; the Keurig Coffee machine; plenty of pans and plates… and beautiful weather…. 5 stars! The Frush Family

Perfect in every way!

10 out of 5 stars for this fabulous home away from home in Columbus - do not hesitate to book! The home itself, know as the Schwartz Castle, is a very special property. It is a truly beautiful, historically interesting, and exceedingly comfortable place to stay, even lovelier than the photos suggest. The arrangement of the space ideally lends itself both to privacy and quiet as well as fun and socialization. The amenities are abundant and reflect great thoughtfulness and generosity on the part of the host. The location was perfect for us, situated in Germantown (a remarkably lovely and unique neighborhood with lots of amenities), but also near the highway for ease of getting around the area. We recommend Pastacia Vera (a very fine Parisian Café) and Katzinger's (a great deli) both across the street from the Castle. We also enjoyed a meal at Sycamore and brunch at Fox in the Snow, both within walking distance. Brent responded with clarity and kindness within minutes to any of my questions. We particularly appreciated his flexibility and generosity in allowing for early check-in and late check-out. Thank you Brent for the amazing stay!

Long time friends

gathered for a weekend of fun, reminiscing. There is a bedroom on the listing that shows (and says) 3 twin bunk beds. That is incorrect. It is 1 triple - so 3 beds stacked 1 on top of the others. The bottom bunk does not have enough space for an adult to sit up in the bed.Some written instructions about how to operate the light switches and stove would be helpful (for those of us in the older generations).Overall we were quite happy with our stay/the neighborhood, etc... Brent was a wonderful communicator.

Second time at the Castle

This historical property is amazing! The castle is spacious, clean, and provided amenities not seen in all VRBOs (stocked coffee and tea stations, candies, popcorn seasonings, shower body wash, shampoo). It is designed in mind for large groups to hang out together, but also have privacy. Our large group used the game room, the large dining area, my daughter loved playing the piano, the kitchen was stocked with plenty of dishes/cookware. There are so many delicious restaurants around and the neatest bookstore is just down the block. The host responds to your messages immediately. We will return!

Perfection

We stayed for a family holiday gathering (6 adults, 2 children). Absolute perfection! The attention to detail by the host was incredible. Everything you could possibly need was there, making for wonderful family memory. We will definitely come back.

The Schwartz Castle was amazing!

Brent was the best host ever, very accommodating with everything. We had to escape the hurricane in Florida so he let us check in early. The house itself was beautiful and filled with spooky history. More than enough room for everyone to sleep comfortably and the game room was a huge plus for entertaining. Location was perfect with the deli right across the street and easy parking right in the driveway. It was my first time in Columbus and I will definitely be staying here again when I come back!
