A southern-style, quirky, fully equipped apartment surrounded by trees in a back garden. Located in an old picturesque South Carolina neighborhood of Columbia. Stay here for a taste of southern living. Do not stay here if you are looking for a bland sterile hotel room experience.

Can't beat the Shandon neighborhood and location of the Treehouse. Bubba was a great host and the place was clean and cozy - would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a room!

Great location and host!

We had a great stay while moving our son out of USC. Location is in a great neighbor, close to stores and walkable to restaurants. Bubba is a great host. And the place is a gem hidden in a secret garden.

Nice stay in Shandon

We enjoyed the "Treehouse" in Shandon - Columbia, South Carolina. Bubba was very accommodating and responsive. We would definitely stay there again. It is the perfect place for a couple.

Bubba is an amazing host! Very prompt and informative with all communications before and during our stay. The Tree House is a unique, charming place to stay. It is covered with ivy and blends seamlessly into the gardens below. We had everything we needed during our stay.The neighborhood is beautiful, historic, safe and most importantly for us, less than 10 minutes from MUSC hospital. We were also close to nice shopping and restaurants.Again Bubba was an amazing host!

I am always in search of the perfect place to stay in Columbia in close proximity to the stadium and university. This was perfectly located in town, easy to get to and very quiet for sleeping after a long football tailgate day! I will definitely recommend and stay again!

Close to it all in Cola!

Second time staying here. We did a long term rental for a few months and it couldn’t have been nicer. Wonderful neighborhood, super clean accommodations. Bubba, the host, is just great and will help with anything you may need during your time there.

Its become our girls weekend spot

This is pur 2nd time staying and it was a wonderful trip as always. Bunna is so kond makes you feel like family. The property is beautiful in the day time and night. Always something fun going on in colimbia SC.

The treehouse is such a quaint spot on Blossom St. The proximity to Devine St, restaurants, and shops was perfect too. The apt was clean with a very comfy bed. The entry way, I imagined, was like entering a secret garden; however, the ivy & fig vine needs a trim!

Not only do you feel like you are staying in a treehouse, the accomodations are like a cozy nest. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The neighborhood is beautiful with tree lines streets. Very walkable. Bubba is a fabulous guy. We will be back.

Great place

cozy little cottage in the best part of historic Columbia. Walking distance to great restaurants and shopping. Very close to McIntosh Cottage, our favorite antique store. Bubba is by far the best host imaginable. He is a fountain of information about Columbia and South Carolina having served in the State Legislature for many years. Very comfortable bed.

Fabulous location and wonderful place

We had such a great weekend! It was our last parents weekend in Columbia after 2 sons and a total of 8 years. Wish I had found Bubba’s Treehouse years ago, b/c I would have booked it every year! Super comfortable and cozy guest house and the location is perfect in the lovely and quiet neighborhood of Shandon. Was half a mile from our son’s house in Five Points! Thanks so much for your hospitality Bubba:)

Great location - nice linens

Great, great location. Neat concept, owner was quick to respond. Linens were very very nice and clean, good threadcount, the mattress may need some reinforcement or time for a new one as it sagged a bit in the middle. Would suggest, a deep clean, wasn't really really dirty, but smelled musty, however, it is a older home and maybe a new rug in the den, seemed to be at the end of it's lifespan.

The Magic Treehouse & Enchanted Garden

If you are looking for a place that feels like home, and ENVELOPES you in beautiful greenery and earthiness, you just found it. This is an upstairs carriage house converted into an apartment behind a beautiful house in the highly desirable Shandon area of Columbia near Devine Street. It has a private entrance, set in the most WONDERFUL beautiful garden (award winning actually) that unfolds with wonder and combines thoughtful intent with the beauty of natures chaos. The host who lives in the main house, "Bubba" Cromer may be one of the best human beings you will ever have the pleasure to meet. You are afforded all the privacy you desire, he never intrudes, but is there if you need ANYTHING. His hospitality is 5 star, his humor will have you laughing your ass off, little things like him leaving a bunch of his amazing marinated boiled peanuts dropped off as "hey, left these for you guys" will leave you speechless and craving more. Inside, the property is literally, in ways, a combination of a kids tree house with lots of memories, combined with an adults sensibility of homey shabby chic (but not in a negative way at all; an eclectic mix of old and new, but not really shabby at all, and the space just feels comfortable and right. The bed is FANTASTIC, the art deco lights, handblown glass crystal birds in a rusted cage mobile on the veranda, big overstuffed pillows and hanging chair with foot rest, combined with fine art along with amateur paintings, shows the love of time and history reflecting a life well lived. Again, in short, it feels like home right away. We have throughly enjoyed our stay, loved getting to know Bubba a little (and his beautiful puppy Queen Boudicia too), and can't say enough good about how pleasurable this stay has been! We leave with amazing memories sitting in rocking chairs on the veranda with Ivy and greenery surrounding us, drinking wine and snacking on the boiled peanuts, listening to owls, soaking in the beautiful nights. The back elevated deck off the bedroom looking out into the garden is magical at well, and a great place for coffee in the morning. Don't let this little gem pass you by! Thanks Bubba for a great time! We will certainly be back with any luck at all.
