4/10, Deficient

I really wanted to give this stay a great review — the cabin has amenities we enjoyed — but I cannot. The owners have posted harsh, intimidating signage warning that they “meter” water use and will fine guests for “overuse.” We were just two people, hiking all day and taking short showers every other day, yet the cistern still ran dry. When I contacted the management company, they tried to blame us. Then they admitted there is no meter at all — the sign is simply meant to scare and intimidate guests. Clearly the management company forgot to fill the cistern for our stay.Without water, nothing works — no toilets, no showers, no drinking water, no coffee, no laundry, no nothing. Their “solution” was to suggest we drive into town and buy bottled water, which they’d reimburse. What a joke.Stay here at your own risk. If the management company fails to keep the cistern filled, you’ll be left without basic sanitation — doing your #2 man business in the woods, like I had to. They offered no help and no compensation for the days we were without this essential resource. Also, it is not lake front in any sense of the word.
