Award Wining Ocean View Villa - Walk to Beach

Welcome to Casa Flotanta, The Floating House, a unique living experience floating above the canopy of the jungle, totally surrounded by nature.

The villa combines expansive ocean views, luxury interiors with premium service, infinity swimming pool, and all within a 5 minute walk to the beach and a world class beach break. Unobstructed 180 degree views, spanning from the dawn rays over the mountains to the glow from the sun setting over the Pacific ocean.

Nestled above the tree line with unobstructed ocean views, Casa Flotanta is made up of the three pods, floating above the canopy of the lush green jungle, connected by bridges and walkways. You’re at eye level with the white face monkeys that make an almost guaranteed twice daily visit; in the mornings for their tree leaf breakfast and the afternoon for a sip of water from the pool.

You’ll enter the home into the main living area, a huge open plan living and dining room space hand crafted low lounge sofas made to ensure sitting at the best position to take in the jungle and ocean as well as two lovechairs with colourful hand-stitched pillows from Guatemala. These are framed by floor to ceiling glass concertina doors which open up to bring the outside in.

Next there’s a solid teak dining table to seat 8 people. The gourmet chefs kitchen with a central island containing the large oven and gas cooker faces the expansive view to ensure an awesome view whilst preparing delicious meals. There are also comfortable teak high stools for the breakfast bar and the water is treated and has UV filtration.

Connecting the living space with the bedrooms and bath is 24 meter corridor connecting made of over 300 pieces of vertical bamboo or take the open air bridges. Your sleeping experience is an essential part of any vacation and we have not spared on the important luxurious details. All beds are orthopedic, pillows allergy-free and sheets are luxury 100% cotton.

The master bedroom has a king size bed and the second bedroom a queen and a single bed too. Each have louvered wooden concertina shutters that fully open onto the terrace. The rooms are 4mts by 4mts, have a large wardrobe, ac and a ceiling fan. Both have awesome views of the waves rolling in.

The third bedroom which is downstairs is more compact with a double bed and a toilet / shower en suite. It also has ac and a fan.

On the lower level is the infinity swimming pool and an additional lounge area. These sit below the house accessed by a few steps. It has been perfectly positioned for you to sit in the water and take in the sunset chorus of parrots squawking, monkeys howling or simply watch the waves.

Designed by Costa Rican architect Benjamin Garcia Saxe with interiors by Dante Medri and it also picked up five awards at the prestigious Costa Rican Binneal in 2015. It has been featured in several design and architectural magazines including Inhabitat, Dezeen, Design Boom, World Architecture News and Su Casa Magazine and was shortlisted for 'house of the year award 2014' by The World Architecture News Awards.
