Reservations made about a week prior. Have been here about every 6 months since 2023 for my daughter's appointment (sometimes sooner if we are picking up a new brace) because we like the location. Jan15 was a major snow/ice storm that affected Buffalo to Westlake so our 5 1/2 hr trip turned into over 8 hrs. I recieved a call at 9:14 pm from a number that came up as Residence Inn by Marriott asking if I wanted to keep my room, if not they understand because the roads were bad and could cancel my room and let expedia know I wasn't charged. I thought I booked the wrong hotel because of number so I told them to cancel. I went in to book again (way more expensive) to make sure we had somewhere to stay. After booking I realized that the original booking was correct, since I was only 10 minutes away I asked the lady at the check-in if I could have my original booking back. She told me I could and I got upgraded for the same price. We settled into our room (which lacked garbage cans, dirty floors, and a messy couch), we found a place to eat and then went to bed. When I realized I was charged for both rooms I called the hotel, Jessica said she had distinctly remembered me from checking in and had to upgrage me to fit "all my kids" and set off the fire alarm which is why I had to pay for both rooms and why they denied the refund when requested by expedia. She said it was all documented in the notes of my stay, only stopping to ask what car I drove.Time to find a new place.
