"Total gem and worth going a bit off the beaten path. Wonderfully renovated and welcoming spaces. On a cool night there were small fires in the fireplaces in the lobby and in the restaurant. The dinner at the restaurant was the best of our trip, and the included breakfast in the morning was also fabulous. Walkable little town with several historical points of interest, a Friday morning farmers market, and lots of locals at Joyces pub and bakery. We wished we had booked for more than one night. "

"Excellent hotel located a short walk to Kilkenny castle and the medieval mile. We are vegetarian and they provided vegan breakfast sausages when we contacted them in advance to request them - much appreciated!"

"Hotel is well located close to the main sites, and the room was very good. The old part of the hotel has many stairs and hallways that can be a challenge when trying to find where you want to go, but that part of the hotel, plus the dining room, have a lot of old world charm. Everybody was friendly and helpful, the breakfast was great, and free parking was nice."

"Recently renovated, very clean, large spacious rooms with elevator; a bit out-of-the-way but with a very popular restaurant. The restaurant was not open as promised at 8:00 AM for breakfast--which we thought unfortunate."

"This hotel's exterior doesn't even hint at what's inside. The area is spacious, flowing and absolutely lovely in the lobby and Waterfront restaurant. We drove all over Ireland for the past 2 weeks and this is the only hotel that had a shower curtain so the floor wasnt flooded (those half walls do nothing, especially when you can't adjust the showerhead to not spray outside the shower stall) and a bathroom exhaust fan so the mirror didnt steam over. The staff were so friendly and helpful,Orla...

"Absolutely beautiful hotel. Spotlessly clean and lovely grounds. We had dinner at the restaurant where service was exceptional and food was great. Breakfast lovely. Staff were friendly and helpful. We informed the hotel it was our wedding anniversary and they provided sweet treats in the room which was really thoughtful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this hotel. "

"Great stay for a great price. It's a simple, functional, yet somehow still very homey and welcoming accommodation. It's not a full service resort or hotel, but it's the best value for money in Ireland. Would recommend, would come back."
