I’m new to VRBO and learning the style of communication with the host. Host interaction was minimal as I did not need to speak with the host until my communication about the placement of the thermostat in the basement unit we were staying in. I received a response 18 hours later stating that it is preset for 68 to 70 degrees. No capability to increase the temperature evidently. During our stay this past 4 days the temperature outside ranged from 27 -29 degrees in the morning to a high of 49 degrees during the midday. It was cold in the unit as the wind was blowing as well. It would have been nice to be told ahead of time that the temperature or heat for the unit is not adjustable right from the beginning. The cleanliness of the unit was ok, but the laundry including the towels, wash cloths and linens smelled musty. The oven did not work properly and would not heat up from a preheat setting. The bathroom tub was not clean requiring cleansing and scrubbing of it to remove dirt and soap scum. Definitely needs a deep cleaning and some refurbishing of the couch and beds as they are significantly soft and uncomfortable to sit on or lay upon. The area is beautiful, nice backyard and pet friendly, but needs some TLC and updating to the unit itself
